Lore Share Day 4

A traveler 

Peripeteia is a guardian and every guardian has a Charge. Some guardians protect other dragons. Others may protect a lair. Another common Charge are trinkets and treasures. 

But Peri’s Charge isn’t something tangible. It isn’t something she can hold. It isn’t something that stays in place. Her Charge is constantly changing and shifting and she must follow it.

Her Charge is the season of Autumn. Whenever the leaves start to change color somewhere on Sornieth, Peri will be there to watch it, and when those leaves fall off and die she will move on to wherever on Sornieth it is fall again.

Lore Share Day 11

A troubled soul

(Warning: Talk of death)

Yulene is dead. 

She wishes to be put to rest. But yet she still exists in the mortal realm as a ghost. She was told of the Goddess of Death that her Soul was too troubled to sleep.

So she has no other choice but to walk among the living whether she likes it of not.

She does not eat. She does not sleep. She is barely noticed by the living.

She doesn’t understand what went wrong, and why she was denied access to the other side.

She lives with Grim now. He offered to help her.

She doesn’t think he can, but the gesture was nice and she doesn’t know what else to do. So she walks with Grim.

Lore Share Day 3

A dragon with chaotic intentions

Manus is a Shadeling. He was created by the Shade to become a spy. But being a spy was boring, so he decided to do his own thing instead, despite knowing that if the Shade ever found out he disobeyed, it could kill him.

So now he lives as if each day is his last. He stalks dragon kind. He steals from them. He manipulates them. He causes them to become paranoid. And he delights at the misery he causes.

There is no rhyme of reason to what he does. He just likes the entertainment.

Lore Share day 9

A lover

Wish fell in love with Bluemoon from afar.

She wanted so badly to reach out and talk to her. Even if Blue didn’t return the romantic feelings, Wish wanted to be something to Blue.

But she was forbidden from speaking to Blue. Blue was the clan outcast. She resembled the infamous Sapphiremoon. Sapphire was the reason for the Clan’s misery.

And so Blue was to suffer, for her likeness to a horrible dragon now dead.

But Wish thought that was so horribly unfair.

She went against her mother’s wishes (who was clan leader) and spoke to Blue.

That got along well, and to Wish’s surprise, Blue fell in love with her too.

They ran away from their clan on the back of an Emperor that Wish had befriended and are now living in peace and in love.

Lore Share Day 6

A mage

Circinus was prohibited from learning magic when he was young. His family was frightened of it. They saw what magic could do in the wrong hands. They decided that all magic was evil. So they never let their son near the stuff.

But magic was the only thing he ever thought about. He couldn’t think of anything else he’d rather be than a professional mage. He knew it was his calling. He knew that it was in his blood.

So he decided that he would leave his family behind and seek out a teacher.

He had heard rumors of an extremely power fae who lived on an island on the outskirts of the Starfall Isles. When this fae heard that he was looking for her, she invited him onto her island.

And she never let him leave. 

Circinus got to learn magic alright. But he never got to learn the proper techniques. Now his magic is dangerous and out of control. He has scratches on his pearl to remember each life he accidentally took.

Talk about a monkey paw situation.

Lore Share Day 2

A dragon with selfish intentions

Nefarious was created from a Loneliness that morphed into a Hatred.

He was created before there were worlds. He was created alone with only the corpse of Nihil as company.

The first living being he met was a young girl named Virtuous. Not knowing what Fear was, she befriended the creature called Nefarious.

And Nefarious decided that this girl was his.

When Virtuous dared to make other friends, Nefarious was thrown into a fit of rage, killing one of the girl’s friends and introducing them all to the emotion of Fear and the feeling of Pain.

Virtuous ran away from Nefarious, no longer thinking of him as a friend, but as a monster.

Nefarious was angry. He wanted Virtuous to be all his and no one else’s.

Now he vows to destroy everything she creates because she made friends that were not him.

If anyone in my lair is a selfish bastard, it’s this guy.

Lore Share Day 1

I’m starting @kal-rising​‘s lore share challenge!

A dragon with heroic intentions 

I like how the prompt doesn’t say ‘a heroic dragon’ but rather a dragon with heroic intentions, because that makes Match perfect for this prompt.

Match grew up in the powerful Solstice family. He was told since birth that he was important. That he would become a king. That demons were the reason for the misery of the world, and therefore they must all die.

When he was 14 he had the opportunity to seize his crown, but he failed. Instead of him becoming king, the young Muerto did. 

Now Match already didn’t like Muerto. Muerto was a Victoria, and the Solstices did not like the Victorias. And the fact that he lost to a boy six years younger than him made his blood boil, but the thing that pissed Match off the most was when he saw what color Muerto’s blood was.

It was black. Black as ink. Black like the demons’ blood.

Match learned that day that Muerto was worse than a Victoria. He was one of the demons. And now he was a king too. He had stolen his crown, and now had power that didn’t belong to him.

So Match began to form a plan. A plan to take back what he believed rightfully belonged to him. A plan to save everyone from the evil demon.

He believed he would be a hero.

Instead he nearly killed a child.

Muerto was innocent. A scared boy. And Match tried to take his life, believing it was justified.

Lore Share Day 10

A fighter

Pterosis is no dragon. He’s a maren, and he’s been fighting off dragons away from his river home since he was a young boy.

It’s not easy work. Most dragons are much larger than marens and they have magic on their side too. Pterosis has a spear and poisons, but not much else to defend himself.

His body is a canvas of scars from his many battles, and his tail fin had been shredded to the point that he can no longer swim without a prosthetic fin.

But it’s all been worth it to keep his home.
