Succession

Sometimes a Teacher wants someone to take their place, in which case they choose a mortal to be their successor. It is a long process that renders the Teacher vulnerable to death until the training of the successor is finished. When the process is complete, the original Teacher eventually fades, and the successor becomes the concept's main Teacher.

There are a few select cases wherein succession takes place involuntarily, such as for Technology.

Pacting

A process wherein a Teacher takes a mortal and shares their power. The duration of the pact varies. Abilities also vary according to Teacher and extent of powers depend on the pacted mortal's constitition. Changes to the mortal's physical body often occur with markings appearing.

PPTS AU

TW/CW : nothing sexual, but also not for kids! smoking, blood, gore, death, and deals with deities of questionable benevolence.

So what is DHMIS: PPTS AU? It sounds like a horrible random amalgam of letters.

Well, it stands for Don't Hug Me I'm Scared: Pedagogue of Particular Teachers and Students AU.

Yes I named it so it would be pronounced like "Puppets AU."  The spelled-out thing is quite a mouthful isn't it?

PPTS is an alternate universe I made up wherein all the puppets are humanoids, the teachers are humanoid embodiments of concepts (gods?) that were trapped in little object bodies during the happening of the DHMIS videos due to Roy's Machine.

There are no romantic ships in this au.

This started as animation memes viewable in YouTube through my channel which goes by the name of Yulogica. I have sone art of it on this blog and very little art of it viewable in Deviant Art under YunaSRL.

I suppose these posts are my attempt to expound upon it without dying from the pain of additional animations. This also sort of exists for me to catalogue things myself, but some others may enjoy it as well, so here you go.

PPTS AU Species

Fabricants

Inhabitants of Fabrica/World. It generally refers to Poppets and Fae-kin. Called such because their world is made of cloth and they make(fabricate) meaning for their lives.

Poppets

Most ordinary of Fabrica's inhabitants. Typical humanoid puppets.

Ex. Roy, Yellow, Speshal One(?)

Fae-kin

Fabricants said to either be descended or blessed by nature. They have fauna/flora traits and may or may not be able to shift into a more animal/plant-like form.

Ex. Duck, Frog Boy, Rabbit Boy, Shrignold, Flower

Cloth-cthulus

Long-lived servant race given to Fabricants in exchange for their souls. Tend to do menial or mind-numbing jobs. All look the same and tend to have few desires. Only higher-ups have wings.

Ex. Red

Teachers

Embodiments of concepts. They're called teachers because of how they guided and influenced the development of Fabricants. May or may not be benevolent.

Muses

Embodiments of more abstract concepts.

Ex. Sketch, Gilbert, Malcolm, Larry, Sol, Pol, Des, Rai, Arkhe, Atlas

Automata

Most recent incarnations of technology teachers that resemble robots with artificial bodies of metal and/or wire.

Ex. Colin, Elle, Fred, Pol, Amos

Kreas Elementals

Have healthy bodies and normally have regenerative abilities. Can manipulate flesh and create Golems.

Ex. Arnie, Espie, Aggie

Golems

Servants made from inanimate objects. Requires a core of living material.

Ex. Bread Boy, Cans
