to me, this (how jensen ankles gets tracker jobs) is solid evidence he just doesn't like jarpad because 1. proof that jensen ankles has a phone and can text, and 2. proof that if you're producing a tv show and want to offer a guy a role you can just text him about it. i am so delighted to receive this ask and also i am devastated that i do not have a clear timeline or summary post to share with you. what i do have, however, is this ask i got a couple months ago where i laid out some vague details of the november 2020 - june 2021 jackles sexy silence/j2 fallout prologue. i can also give you a quick summary!
june 24, 2021. news breaks that the winchesters is in production from chaos machine (jensen and danneel's production company) with robbie thompson (my beloved) acting as showrunner/head writer. the loudest reactions were largely negative as people jumped to the assumption that this show would be nothing but john apologism. however, there were glimmers of hope - robbie thompson, actors such as misha and ruth connell expressing interest in coming back, and the confirmation that the ackleses owned the rights to spn, which felt like a huge deal.
and then j*red lost his absolute fucking mind live on twitter.
the shift in mood was immediate.
the copy i found of all the tweets is a delightful edit to "hold me tight or don't" made by @anthonycrowley. apart from the lyrics, those tweets are 100% real and accurate, i promise! i started writing the below explanation before i found that post, so apologies for the redundancies.
the first tweet: "dude. happy for you. wish i heard about this some way other than twitter. i'm excited to watch, but bummed sam winchester had no involvement whatsoever." a fan tweeted at j*red asking if it was a joke and then j*red tweeted "no. it's not. this is the first i've heard about it. i'm gutted."
and then tumblr lost its absolute fucking mind. because what the fuck was that?! and while we were freaking out about that, he tweeted again and all hell broke loose. he mentioned robbie thompson and said "et tu brute?? wow. what a trully awful thing you've done. #bravo you coward."
he very quickly deleted that tweet but not quickly enough. and then he said something to the effect of "don't send hate" but people were already very much sending hate, emboldened by j*red publicly sending hate. jokes and memes continued to flood in. a former senior adviser to the first trump administration chimed in.
and then the next morning eric kripke entered the chat. he tweeted (and quickly deleted) that when he approved jensen's idea for the winchesters, he assumed j*red knew. j*red and jensen start publicly tweeting about how they talked that morning and they are always talking on the phone yknow, they're brothers, etc etc, and it very much came across like jensen publicly babying j*red for, yknow, publicly being a baby. and then misha inexplicably posted a video of himself in the bath. was that the end of it? definitely not, but that's the highlight reel.
i would also recommend watching this video recap, which should hopefully make more sense now!
as for j*red being a dick on set, i only have rumors and cannot point to any direct evidence. but i do believe it to be true. especially because of his public behavior in this and other instances. and yknow. general vibes.
