SO! Charles cares a LOT for ria!!!!! 

I feel like he has always been pretty loyal to the Waynfletes (at least this generation?) I mean he has always been about the good of the country, first, and it was nOT being served well under Felix and agreed that he should be made to step down (but he also wasn’t super keen on the way things happened and tbh and felt that it could have been handled differently (y’know w/o all the murder). But he definitely sees a lot of potential for good when David takes the throne and he’s determined to help him in every and any way possible!!!

ANYWAY re: him and ria ... I feel like he’s always liked her as a person. I think he’s always been able to tell that there is more to her than what one spots on the surface. Being David’s adviser and closest friend, I feel like he has a pretty intimate relationship with the family. I’m unsure about the particulars since we don’t have a David, but I can see where the two of them may have been close friends even before David became a prince?? But yeah, he cares a lot for her and I think his more romantic feelings are more recent but they def came on w/o him really noticing and he was too far in b/f he even realized that he was falling for her. 

That being said, anything that would happen between them (not that he expects it to! he knows she’d never look at him in that way) would NOT be in the best interest for Catalonia and he has no intentions of ever saying a word to her (or anyone) about it. 

He really just wants her to be happy!!! And he hopes that she will be one day <3

Settling In || Lucy + Ria

Lucy smiled as Honoria entered the room, rising from her seat as she did so. They had been in Avenia at the palace for a short time, yet had seen hardly anyone beyond their party. Their hosts had hoped they would have time to settle in before the banquet that evening. 

“Is everything to your liking in your rooms?” Lucy inquired, crossing the room to join Ria. Her room was equisite, elaborate tapestries adorning the walls and the softest bed Lucy had ever felt. Once alone, she’d dropped all pretenses and fallen into the bed just to test it out. 

“I know everyone has always told me how large the Glorianus Palace is, but I couldn’t have imagined it,” she continued, looking around the sitting room that had been provided for the party from Catalonia to use. Of course the palace back in Valliere was grand, but nothing like this. 

“Its almost intimidating, isn’t it?” she commented, looking back at Ria.
