Ooof. Okay, so, I read the thing on the nano website about Tano growing fond and /fond/ of Lorit. Does Lorit reciprocate the feelings, even just a little, or does he only care about his job?

okay it came through this time and im so hyped with this question!!!! 

the simple answer? yes, lorit does. and that’s the big problem.

the long answer? lorit stays away from people unless he needs to be around them, because it’s best for business. keeps him out of the main cities, so the god’s and spirit’s don’t have any preconceived notions for him when he’s hunting. 

also helps that he has a general distaste for people, also because of his line of work. he’s done hunts for some truly selfish and pointless reasons. you can only kill a god for their racks before you start hating humanity as a whole. he knows how cruel his kind can be, and finds it distasteful even as he actively plays into that role.

and then he meets tano. and at first, tano is an easy way into the forest, an easy wayy to find the forest god without putting himself at risk of being eaten by the wolves or anything like that. but tano has a wonder for the world that most humans don’t have any more, he’s got joy and love and heart that lorit hasn’t seen in a long time, if ever.

it’s almost impossible not to be taken in by tano. especially after tano starts to be more affectionate. the thing about this world is that it’s very harsh, very rough. there’s not a lot of moments to find comfort in. but tano is warm comfort with a sharp edge. someone that can take care of himself, and still look at lorit (who’s just as harsh and rough and fractured as the rest of this awful world) and see something worth being soft around.

so lorit absolutely falls for tano. and it’s the worst thing that’s ever happened to him, because he has a job to do. because he’s lied about his profession this whole time and if tano only knew some of the things that lorit’s done!

lorit is a man that’s never felt guilty over his line of work, because it’s a job and he’s just doing it to get paid. but then tano comes along, and the wolves come along, and lorit falls for tano in a way he’s never fallen for anyone before, and suddenly killing that forest god feels like the worst sort of sin.

it’s a messy situation, all the way around. lorit would like to just go back to hunting hare spirits out in the country side, thanks.

Unidentified animal ears???? like they just dont know the type of animal or are they just so strange??? I need to know,,,,

more like….i can’t decide? i’m thinking like. small ears. not big ones. so maybe scottish fold ears? sunbear? a form of small dog? they aren’t overly large or anything like that. they just certainly don’t have a human shape to them.

i’m actually leaning more towards scottish fold or sunbear, now that ive said it out loud! (in writing, lmao)

it’s been a toss up as to whether humans in this verse are lightly furred or not? again, not like. thick coats or anything. but a thicker coat of peach fuzz, where they’re just faintly fuzzy?

but he def has unidentified animal ears.

lady bain, the main antagonist, sort of, has cat eyes and very large, faintly pointed ears! her right hand man has skin markings reminiscent of a basenji dog, extremely long limbs, and small but sharp tipped ears. 

i use the term human anyway, because writer’s privilege lol

so! Of the Gods! can you tell me a bit about Lorit?? i don't know much about him and i am curious....i don't have any specific questions quite yet...

yes!!!! i talk mostly about tano because it’s heavily pov, but here are some fun facts and ramblings about lorit!

*he has prosthetics! to be exact, a prosthetic leg and arm, and a fake eye. these are plot important at several points! 

*lorit hunts gods for a living! he’s damned good at his job and has no respect for the human race. it’s hard to think well of people when they hire you to kill a ram god, just because they want something to hang on the wall.

*his job is the only reason he was able to afford his prosthetics! they are a new thing in this world and very very expensive and experimental!

*has traveled all over the world for work and loves telling stories about the places he’s been!

*comes off as very jovial and cheerful. is good at getting your guard done. silver tongue, this one.

*i use human in the vaguest sense of the term. humans in this world are still so closely linked to the animal spirits that they have faintly animalistic physical attributes? lady bain has golden cat eyes and lorit has (unidentified animal) ears

*he’s never felt guilty for killing a god before

*not until he meets tano and the wolves, at least

*doesn’t know what the iron and metal is doing to these lands

*tano’s wonder and interest in lorit’s stories makes him feel very uncomfortable and mildly guilty, because he, of course, never out right says he’s a god hunter

*very dangerous man with a soft spot for tano that he Doesn’t Like, thank you very much

*strongly dislikes lady bain. dislikes most of the people that hire him tbh.

*likes his ears being scratches and doesn’t realize this until tano does exactly that

She’d managed well, holding her fear at bay, helping the injured, staying out of the way of the bad tempered, generally keeping to herself unless the situation demanded it. She was doing well. Piper had managed to take her mind off anything negative that had happened to her in the past few weeks, trying to move past it.

However, her hard work crumbled as she spotted Lori on the other side of the room, the sight of her cousin bringing back the rush of harsh memories, the reminder of the sting on her cheek, reminding her how things had ended the last time they had spoken. Doing her best not to react, Piper turned, trying not to be spotted by her cousin, knowing it was probably pointless.

She gazed out the window before a small sigh left her and she turned back again, trying to catch Lori’s eyes, wanting to get anything negative out of the way, to know what their relationship would be now, if it was irreparably damaged or not. “Lori.”

Though he was still in pain, and he was unable to even try being civil to anyone, Andy’s spirits lifted, along with his miserable expression, as soon as he saw the familiar blonde hair of one of his closest friends, the one who had been there fro him, even though he had been a terrible friend more than once.

Seeing Lori standing on the other side of the room, conversing, living, breathing, it was enough to make Andy forget the pain he felt for a little while, it made him forget the problems he faced. He crossed the room swiftly, standing behind the blonde, not too close, but close enough that he could hear her properly, the sound relaxing him further. If Lori was alive than maybe the world could go on spinning.

Clearing his throat slightly, alerting his friend to his arrival, he spoke quietly. “Lori...” The one word held more emotion than he cared to admit, but it was a well known fact that the pair of them tended to get emotional together. “I’m so happy to see you...”

Though she was definitely not one of Juliet’s favourite people, the sight of Lori across the grass outside the church they were currently holed up in was one that made a smile spread across her face. If Lori was there, it had to mean there were other survivors.

Without really thinking about it, Juliet broke into a run, headed straight for the other blonde, who was exactly the type of person she needed to see, someone who had not been in her immediate group, someone that proved her hope had not been foolish.
