Artists to Watch: Los DeVitos

    I was scrounging around Bandcamp the other day, trying to dig up some fresh meat for my car’s tape deck, when I stumbled upon Los DeVitos. These airy jammers fresh out of Bakersfield, California know just how to compress the experience of a California lifestyle into lo-fi two-minute tracks. Their demo is seven tasty surf tunes, one after another, all full of reverb and reminiscent of low-riding cars and making out on the beach. While everyone seems to be jumping on the surf rock train these days, Los DeVitos have really mastered the combination of retro guitars and gothic vibes. Physical copies of their demo tape are sold out, but you can still snag the digital tracks on their Bandcamp, or catch them live, sneaking all around Cali with the top down.
