I dont think Razul is a kyrii
Like are we just assuming that he is because his son is, because Coltzan's daughters are 3 different species and none of them are lupes
Like this art makes him look like a nimmo to me
Which would be rad as hell, they're way under represented
But then his battle sprites make him look like a species with a muzzle but he still doesn't look like a kyrii to me
that one lost desert plot would've worked a lot better and be less jarring at the end if they had like, an official NT comic prologue or something to lead up to it
nabile, tomos and jazan (and nightsteed maybe) meet each other as youngsters when jazan approaches the junior scarabs with mercenary work - help him find a lost temple, and they'll get a cut of the treasure.
along the way they grow closer, save each other's lives, and jazan eventually reveals that one of the treasures in the temple is a magical scroll which will hopefully cure his father's ill-defined affliction. Jazan and nabile grow especially close, as she is charmed by his nervous-nerd energy and passion, and he is beguiled by her drive and cleverness - while he and tomos bond over rough childhoods, their athleticism, and the simple desire for happiness, in whatever form it takes, matching tomos and nabile's veteran banter and teamwork.
they get there and pass the trials of the temple, and with the (not that impressive after all) treasure won, jazan feels the pull of his father calling to him, and very reluctantly parts ways with his friends.
years later, razul finally decodes the scroll, and learns the conditions for "finishing" the curse put upon him by jazan's mother to stop him from taking over the world as a sorcererous overlord - their son must marry his true love, and they must be blue-blooded royalty. not understanding love and seeing an easy out, razul browbeats his abused son to go to sakhemet, the nearest monarchy, and marry amira, one way or another. the dutiful son, jazan goes with an entourage of masked undead guards.
as soon as he makes it into the city, he is spotted by an adult tomos, who immediately runs up to reconnect. jazan is initially elated to see him again, but quickly remembers WHY he is there and tries to turn tomos away. tomos insists and eventually jazan grabs him by the collar and orders him to find nabile and the other scarabs and run. tomos is shoved away by the guards and runs to figure out what has happened to their friend. Jazan is rejected by amira, and with failure not an option, does the whole curse thing to force the issue with his guards and the undead dimension.
this would require a reworking of the plot itself but, like, eh. it'd end the same.
Am I the only one who was/is really obsessed with Prince Jazan and Nabile from Neopets Lost Desert Plot? No? Just me? That’s fine.
