Since the pen probably works tell them that you refuse to pay extra getting another one sent. If they want the tablet back they can send you the money to ship it. If not you keep everything because there’s no reason for YOU to pay more for it.

Its really up to you if you have the time, patience and cash to follow your guilty feelings. Unless you’re facing some kind of legal repercussions, there’s really nothing condemning you for keeping it.

I'm not going to pay a cent more anyway so the only trouble I have right now is whether to message them back and wait another day for a reply (fucking time zones) or write directly to ebay because yes this looks very much like a scam. Maybe I should write up an essay on that stuff in advance...and maybe try the tablet out to test if it works. Having a defect tablet would make matters only worse - for me, but especially for them.
