Another part of Epping’s heritage about to disappear. I’ve always loved these Art Deco apartments on Epping Road. The Californian bungalows, federation homes, huge trees and lush gardens that characterised so much of this old suburb are being flattened for breathtakingly ugly high rise apartments. Progress? Let’s contemplate the empty facade of the building some hours before demolition, the mozaic piece was removed, no one knows where it is and how it will be keept, as it was promised by the people from municipality. The mozaic piece for some reason wasn’t listed as a national heritage and therefore wasn’t protected by the state:(

Main entrance, House of Cinematography (Dom Kino), designed by R.Khayrutdinov, V.Breusenko, S.Azizov, R.Shakirov, S.Kievskaya, engineers G.Kostina, A.Agasafyants, built in 1982-83.
