The Lost King, found? | Edward & Quinn [au]
The London Courts had very much lost their appeal after the disappearance of young Edward. Tarquin had been a ward of the Royals, at two years younger than Edward he had looked up to him, but now he was gone. Years passed without the company of the brothers, their disappearance and apparent deaths sparking contreversy amongst the men and women of the court and yet Tarquin, the young, unrelated child, was left out of these conversations. He heard them all, heard every little conspiracy, every titbit of gossip and as the years grew longer, from two, to five to longer. Edward would have been eighteen, or nineteen, by now and Tarquin did miss him terribly.
They had never spent much time together. Edward was royalty and Tarquin only the son of a Northern English Lord, and not one of great note either, though he liked to act as if he were. His family had aided the Royals somehow, back in a time before he was born, before his father, even, was born, and this was the repayment; allowing Tarquin Blackwood to learn to read, to write, to carry a sword and act a gentleman.
But now it was Tarquin's time to go, to explore the world--to explore England and possibly even Scotland--as only a young, relatively rich boy could; obnoxiously. After all, he would have to come home to a wife and his familial land.
He had been in Hereford for two days now and already he was going out of his mind. Each time the sun fell below the horizon and he left to the taverns, he swore he could see Edward, the flash of curly, blond hair, the soft skin. It was no lie that Tarquin had found himself attracted to the young King, but there was not a person in the Kingdom that was not.
Tonight, however, he found himself waiting for the mysterious blonde, just waiting for another glimpse.
