you think with all the blood on your hands that people will bow to you.
but they don’t.
people fear you and police try to hunt you down.
but it has the same affect.

Hoggle was a loner, this much was known about him. He tried to make it seem like he was completely independent and didn’t need friends. This often caused others to not want to befriend him, especially other dwarves, but this suited Hoggle just fine. Most people were only out for themselves or so he believed.
One day he came across a small blonde boy in the woods. He looked like a mortal and nothing like the fae that resided in the Labyrinth. Of course there were many creatures outside of it, but mortals? Mortals were something to hide from or steal from. That’s how most fae thought of mortals; they were to be feared or taken advantage of, or both. They thought it was funny to steal and aggravate mortals without making their presence known. Hoggle on the other hand found that all very bothersome. He wouldn’t like it if someone took from him so he didn’t take from others, even if he was looking out for number one most of the time. “Hey, kid, this isn’t a safe place for someone like you. You better get out while you can before the fairies get you. It may sound funny but if they catch you, you won’t be laughing. Trust me.”

⊰ ✗ ⊱ ;; The young female approached the first person she came across with. With a unfolded map in her arms she held it in front of the stranger. She felt a little embarrassed, but she tried to give a confident impression.
"I'm sorry to bother you," Minako began. "But it's my first time here and I'm not sure where to go. Could you tell me where the nearest hospital is?"
irenedances:
The woman twisted her hands together nervously. She wasn’t lost. She was never lost. Lost was a thing that happened when you had someplace to be and weren’t there. No. After Rapture started crumbling she had lost all someplaces to be. So she couldn’t ever be lost. Not lost. No.
But this little girl must be. It wasn’t right. For a child to be out alone. What if someone mistook her for a Little Sister (as the blond herself had done moments before).
"I’m not lost. No. Are you sweetheart? Where’re your parents?"
The southern drawl came out clipped in places. Stopped unexpectedly as though Irene no longer was certain what a real sentence sounded like. As though she’d not spoken in years. Only screamed herself hoarse.
Irene knelt, smiling as sweetly as her scared and somewhat twisted face would allow.
"Do ya need my help?
Something about this woman attracted Louisa immediately. A primal instinct that told her that this stranger was okay. That she was safe. From what she was seeking safety, the little girl hadn't a clue, though her current environment looked wholly unfriendly. The lack of shining columns and plush carpets astounded her.
When did it all change? Maybe she was in a nightmare world. Maybe this lady was here to rescue her from the bleak and alien surroundings. Maybe Louisa really was the one who was lost.
"The bad man came and took my daddy away," she explained simply, yet sadly. How long ago did that even happen? Louisa tried to grasp the memory better, but it was too hazy. She remembered the man; the man in white who hurt her daddy and made him disappear. The man who caused her to forget how to gather...
There was no mention of a mother. That memory too was fuzzy, but with a hint of something foul that lurked just beyond what her mind could comprehend.
"You don't know the bad man do you?"

He slumped down into the sands of Hueco Mundo, legs finally giving out after the flight from his captors. Spitting grit from his mouth, he let his head fall to a billowing black sleeve as he tried to piece together what little he could.
His name was Ichigo, or at least that was what those people had called him. The people in white that had kept him locked away for all of the short, few weeks in his memory. They were enemies. Even though they'd kept saying otherwise, even though they kept telling him he was injured and that he'd regain himself with time, stuffing his head full of pieces that didn't fit.
They were lying, that was the one thing he hadn't let them push from his mind, and the first chance he'd gotten to escape, he'd taken. Not that he'd been successful his first time. Trapped in the heart of their empire, he'd been lucky to stumble upon the gate that had set him free. This was his third escape attempt, and he knew they wouldn't be far behind.
Ichigo pushed to his feet, shaking strands of hair out of his face. It was too long. He hadn't trusted anyone enough to let them near his head to cut it. It was the least of his problems.
They'd taken his... something. Weapon, he thought, except it was far more critical than any simple weapon, but even trying to force the information, it was like trying to navigate his head through a thick fog. He couldn't find his bearings in his own mind.
So he kept going, pushing further until he had nothing left and had to stop again.
