I might have found a workaround for my "sidewalk problem".
I wanted some places of my neigborhood to have sidewalks. But I did not want to add them as a neighborhood decoration. TS2 does not displays floors on the street tiles in neighborhood view.
Even if using criquettes road transparancy fix the lotimposter of the street will be empty. If only there was an option to display street tiles the same way as lot tiles.....
Well there is... sort of.
If you use Lotadjuster, there is an advanced option to "add and remove roads".
By removing the only street the lot has, it produces this:
I made a quick replacement for this experiment. The purple line is the road. ( + criquette transparancy fix) As you can see the floor tiles show up and are "under the street". So you can adjust the road and sidewalk to your liking. As long as you don't move the car portals (where carpool and service vehicles show up) they'll be working fine. The sim is also able to leave on foot. One might consider this a feature as well: You'll be able to build "in the street".
Downsides to this method:
You can't place lots on the opposite site of the street. As far as the game is concerned, there is a lot in the way and you can't place lots on each other.
You can't move the lot. There is no road on that lot, so the game let's you pick up the lot, but you can't place it down.
Floor tiles won't be very detailed.
If you do not plan on moving lots much, this might be the best option. But maybe I'll find another solution...
