Does anyone know how to use the lotadjuster, when you want the lot to be placed on terrain that is higher than the terrain you place it on? I've seen iCad's tutorial here, and I tried unchecking the "keep lot elevation" (and also with it checked) but the lot still ended up inside of the neighborhood terrain both times. I really want to place a lot up here:
and as you can see, the terrain there is higher (but flat enough for a small lot!). Thanks in advance<3
I might have found a workaround for my "sidewalk problem".
I wanted some places of my neigborhood to have sidewalks. But I did not want to add them as a neighborhood decoration. TS2 does not displays floors on the street tiles in neighborhood view.
Even if using criquettes road transparancy fix the lotimposter of the street will be empty. If only there was an option to display street tiles the same way as lot tiles.....
Well there is... sort of.
If you use Lotadjuster, there is an advanced option to "add and remove roads".
By removing the only street the lot has, it produces this:
I made a quick replacement for this experiment. The purple line is the road. ( + criquette transparancy fix)
As you can see the floor tiles show up and are "under the street". So you can adjust the road and sidewalk to your liking.
As long as you don't move the car portals (where carpool and service vehicles show up) they'll be working fine. The sim is also able to leave on foot.
One might consider this a feature as well: You'll be able to build "in the street".
Downsides to this method:
You can't place lots on the opposite site of the street. As far as the game is concerned, there is a lot in the way and you can't place lots on each other.
You can't move the lot. There is no road on that lot, so the game let's you pick up the lot, but you can't place it down.
Floor tiles won't be very detailed.
If you do not plan on moving lots much, this might be the best option. But maybe I'll find another solution...
Spring Hill Duplexes - Two Separate “Connecting” Lots
After some experiments with the LotAdjuster tool to make “connected” houses, I came up with these duplexes, modelled after homes that I have seen throughout areas of Pennsylvania. The houses look nearly identical from the front, but inside they are styled for different types of sims. Read on below to see more details.
Download: SFS | MTS
The left house is intended for an old or young couple, and comes in around $80,000. It’s furnishings are a little more expensive than its counterpart, and are intended to be warm and cozy. There is a sunroom at the back of the house that I imagine was added sometime after the original build. The bedroom, bathroom, and a little study are upstairs, and an unfinished basement currently serves as a woodworking area but can be finished and turned into living space or additional bedrooms. A small backyard completes the house.
I visualized the right home as more of a “rental” house for 2-3 recently graduated sims who can’t afford to strike it out on their own quite yet. The furnishings are cheaper, more colorful, and more youthful. There are two bedrooms upstairs and they share an off-suite bathroom. Another unfinished basement has some gym equipment and has probably seen a party or two. The backyard includes a small garden.
Custom Content Included
Both lots include a light amount of custom content. I think these items improve the quality of the lot, but it is no deal breaker if you don’t want to install them. These items include:

[Sims 2] How to add multiple road access sides to a lot using LotAdjuster
Thanks to @animacervae for the Ask!
This short guide will show you how to add two or more road access sides to a lot in The Sims 2. It’s very easy!
Before we begin, we need to download a program called LotAdjuster by Mootilda.
Step 1) BACK UP YOUR GAME. LotAdjuster is a safe program but it makes permanent changes to your hood and lots. Please make a copy of your current save file(s) and keep them aside just in case.
Step 2) Place the lot you want to change.
Note: If you’re placing an empty lot (like the one in the picture), you will have to load into the lot at least once, make a change, and save. For example, load in > place a chair > save > exit lot. LotAdjuster cannot make changes to a lot that is “unsaved”, otherwise you will see this error message later on:
Step 3) Once the lot is placed, exit your game and start LotAdjuster. First, find your lot by navigating the Hood > Lot screens.
Step 4) Now we’re cookin’ with gas! First, select “Advanced...” at the bottom of the first page to open the extended right-side options. Next, check “Add and remove roads” box. When you check that box, the Road boxes will become selectable - choose the correct side you want extra road access. When finished, hit Finish.
Step 5) Load your game to review the changes.
First, you’ll notice the new road actually takes up space inside your lot! Although a bit annoying, this is normal. Your lot will look a little glitchy until you move it/snap it to new road.
From here, if you’re happy with the changes - you’re done!
If you hate the changes, you can go back to LotAdjuster to remove your new road by simply unchecking the Road box you added previously.
All of these lots are 1x2

The lots are meant to be placed in numeric order, as they will fit together this way. See the neighbourhood shot for reference.

Is it possible to move the lot on the top (let’s say it’s connected to a road) to the beach and make it fit to the beach terrain? Also can you convert the lot to a beach lot then?
Totally forgot to follow up with additional pictures of the Spring Hill Duplexes. First up! The left one. As I said before, furnished for a couple (young or old), a little more expensive, and a little more quaint.

And finally additional pics of the right duplex! Coming in around $54,000, it would be a great fit for recently graduated sims looking to live together to save money. I particularly like the small bedroom, and, though I kept it sparse, the basement has a lot of potential for parties or a nicer makeover.
