the star that fell to earth
the stars drift through space
never close enough to touch
if they ever reach out
space won't hear them scream
but please
the light is so barren
i need someone to let me
the moon spins slower than everyone else
down here we look up at her
but we can never touch her mottled surface
because she'll take our breath away
and i'm tired
of fighting to be loved
of feeling so disconnected from the homes i wish i had
its easier to be galaxies away
than crashland down to earth
and realise they never wanted me
the hollow satellites sending whale songs
a repeated malady
to send me down to the depths
rather than into your arms
i hope they like me here
under the deep blue sea
its similar to my home above
floating, and empty
my friends are far and few between
the angelfish and anemone
they reach out just like i used to
but i can't reach, i can't breathe
dissociation in the ocean
there's nothing much to see
a bloated body, a shell floats up
so sing that haunting melody
and bring more down into the depths
below the deep blue sea
for friends are hard to find
for the dying, dead and buried
the corpses love to feel the air
on their rotting skin
i let my limbs break away
the flesh torn by the wind
my mortal vessel gone once more
and back to dust and bone
i float once again amongst the stars
and for a moment, i'm home
