PT. 1 EPILOGUE .ᐟ
9:47 PM
Tim set himself up for major failure. He'd like to blame it on his friends Kip and Buzz, but there was no use. Being Robin and balancing a social life was absolute hell. Buzz begged Tim to come with him to a party, something about some girl’s dorm from Bellwood and an indoor pool. He agreed reluctantly, what if Robin was needed? But Batman and Robin hadn’t been getting along. So screw it, why not? He had to admit a lot of these girls were pretty—and a few of the guys, although his luck with love as of recently was cursed. Tim was sitting on the edge of the pool sipping very slowly on his drink–a mix of zesti cola and something bitter–the music playing was garish and not really his taste. But hey, it wasn’t his party.
Tim didn’t realize that Bellwood was so close to Brentwood, and that both student bodies were intertwined. Buzz had been talking to a girl for three weeks now, even Kip ‘the recluse’ had found a girl to talk to tonight. And in Tim’s own pathetic attempt to not feel like a loser, he found the closest person he could. The guy was a bit of a dunce and probably not into Tim, but he made for entertaining conversation. Tim tried his best to focus on the utter nonsense this guy was yakking, but he kept glancing at another scene. He mumbled an excuse before walking to the other side of the natatorium.
Some ogreish looking guy had put his hands on a girl who was obviously refusing. Tim was just about to ask if everything was alright until some figure jumped from the rafters.
What. The. $*!#%.
Steph? No she doesn’t work anywhere near here, thank god. It’s not Cass…this isn’t a bat-suit. He ran through all the possibilities, not a bat, speedster, not an arrow…kryptonian or maybe just a meta? Well it's definitely not Kon.
There wasn’t any struggle between the assailant and this guy. Tim reached out for the other girl as the two began to tussle. But ultimately the masked..hero…won. The other guy was K.O. on the ground. The girl shoved past Tim, itching to get back to the party probably. She didn’t even question what happened. Tim had an idea, but one he didn’t have much of a positive opinion on. Well he wasn’t sure yet. The figure lurched backwards, looking at Tim. A finger hovered over her lips. ‘Shh’.
Brentwood and Bellwood both have their own vigilantes. Tim had a new case to solve.
10:23 PM
Tim snuck through his dorm window. Shutting it quietly, normally when he did this he was dressed in red and yellow body armor. It was weird to think that was the norm for him, most kids didn’t sneak out to go fight crime. Just him and a few others he knew. And apparently a student at Bellwood.
“Master Drake?” Tim hadn’t been able to get his feet on the ground before Alfred scared him. He fell with a heavy thud. He scrambled back to his feet, Tim wasn’t the most graceful Robin. “I see you’re not in your suit. Partaking in normal teenaged affairs I presume? Need I scold you, I didn’t think this was in my job description.“
“Thanks Alfie, but seriously you don’t need to worry.” Tim had been drinking but it wasn’t anything substantial. (Besides he honestly didn't have time to drink, let alone party, this was rare). No girls, and he hadn’t been smoking. To be frank, his night of teenage rebellion was interrupted by the appearance of that vigilante. “Did you know that Brentwood has a sister school? Bellwood, it’s an all girls academy.”
“I was aware. Is that where you were?” Alfred asked as he watched Tim flop onto his bed. The boy let out a soft hum.
“They have this pool room, that’s where the party was, and I saw…well I saw someone else dressed up in a suit.” Tim put his hands under his head, backtracking his whole night. Trying to find hidden details. “Y’know like mine, like Robin.” He clarified.
“Do you think they were involved in something nefarious?”
“I’m not really sure, but I highly doubt it. They roughed up some creep.” Tim responded, he sprung out of bed and headed for his wardrobe. He pressed the back panel of the wardrobe and pulled his Robin suit out of a hidden compartment. “I’ve got some work to do, I’ll be back in a few hours.”
Before Alfred could remind Tim of his civil history exam, the boy was gone. Off to see this new mystery vigilante...
