Bodywork - Scuttle
So back from my holiday with my degree done and dusted so we all know that means its time to finish off this Seven!!
I did some wire checking and sorting over the last weekend as was left with a whole bunch of unnamed wires. Never the less figured most of them out, just the reverse one I need to wire in, shouldn't be a hassle but need to check that the switch is working.
And couldn't resist taking her for a drive around the block to check the speedo was wired and working properly haha.
Anyway, on to the scuttle, the portion that is below the windscreen and above the dash. I started with some A2 sheet of card which were taped into place from which a template was taken...
After the template was made, I needed to weld in a piece of flat steel bar to form a "step". This step will provide a lip on which a rubber trim can be glued so that the bonnet will sit flush with the scuttle.
Here re pics of this strip,
below you can see the "step" I was talking about,
The next steps will include the cutting of the aluminium sheet metal to start forming the scuttle. Once this is completed and the nosecone arrives the bonnet can be completed and she will look like a Seven!!
More posts to follow, stay tuned...
