reflections and perceptions
So last week a bunch of crazy stuff happened, all in a matter of 12 hours. It completely shifted my life into an alternate direction. Leaving me to accept this challenge or be defeated by circumstance. Thankfully, I have a wonderful partner whom went through all of this with me. We were left to figure out a method of getting an entirely new roof over our heads in a matter of days, without any warning. SUCH IS LIFE.
Anyways, that was then-this is now. We've since pulled through and put ourselves into a beautiful new apartment with more then I could ask for and in short all of the tremendous stress and somewhat traumatic events really turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Our apartment has been empty for about a week aside from pretty much our clothes and cats. Today is the day we get to pull our stuff out of the old place and bring it over here to finally complete this chapter.
I am just so grateful for the entire experience and it has absolutely shifted my perspective on life for the better. The saying goes don't let your past make you bitter, let it make you better. Being grateful, no matter what. Rolling with the punches, when you fall off the horse get right back on again. In this life impermanence aka change is what I know to be an ever present part of the NOW. Without experiences like these it would be difficult to see life in such a way that perpetuates understanding, empathy, and beauty.
Life is a gift and I am grateful for my existence. All that I go through, all that we go through, collectively builds culture, history, and self identity on the physical realm. I just wanted to express my undying gratitude for all that I have experienced; the good, the bad, & the ugly. All of it is important to me and I would hope that each of you reflect on the times in which you felt wronged or thought life was unfair. Think about the times when things were absolutely brilliant and going so well. Absorb these moments, accept these moments as a right of passage into a new state of mind. Surrendering to the genuine discontent of some and the undeniable excitement of others. Keeping in mind; This too shall pass.
reflections
I learn so much every single millisecond about so many different little things. A crazy jigsaw puzzle of consciousness...I connect the dots.
It's a feeling of shedding internally, possibly breaking through.
I used to describe this sensation as a child by saying "I feel like a bomb just went off in my head." Whenever I had just discovered something I found miraculous, I also used this term the first time I learned to read a book.
I haven't thought about that for a while and it does bring me back to a place of sheer amazement with myself. What an accomplishment, I thought. I can't believe I that I did this! A very proud moment for me.
I was looking through cards that I have saved from the last 10+ years and I found one card that I honestly didn't know I had. It was from my grandmother, she describes a moment when I was just 1 and as she held me outside as she showed me the stars. She said it was the first time I realized that everything was connected.
Reading this at 22 and my grandmother now passed away, I have nothing but deep gratitude and a humbled heart. With so many things that go on daily without a hitch. These things that I don't even realize, until I begin to to pay attention to what is really happening. All the in-betweens, seamlessly sew together this reality.
Amazing... It is all there.
