Day 3 - #LS11 Client Meetings, Partnering, Social Experience
Five partnering meetings and a few more client meetings were the theme of Day 3. So far, Lotusphere 2011 has been an amazing partnering and client experience. New initiatives in partnering with IBM have blossomed and our hope is for a great client experiences and a strong reinforcement of our skills for our organization as a business consultancy, educators, and solutions architects. Reinforcing social business here at Lotusphere means, for me, being social in the context of connecting and collaborating. This is my 9th or 10th Lotusphere and each one is a grind from sunrise to midnight. It is important to do something for yourself and not drown in sessions and running between buildings in fear of missing something important. Take your time, talk with others, network and share ideas and stories that can ultimately help you achieve your goals. Many attendees forget about the unprecedented access to key ibmers that will help you get the information you need. Have meaningful conversations with them For us speakers, lots of the feedback I have received was positive however a little less of selling "why this is cool" and more of the "here is what XXX does". Attendees need the data, not the fluff. THey need the data to consume so they can determine if it is truly cool. Finally, one more note on Social Business. Have meaningful face-to-face conversations. Collaborate with one another and meet someone new every day, every hour, every session. Social is not just online. Its also being social with the person sitting next to you. You maybe surprised in what you find out if you reach out to someone and introduce yourself.
