More mushroom paint doodles ✨🍄🟫
A happy Mushroom Monday to you all.
In between orders, work continues on upgrades for both the shops booth and the Kingdom of Loreamour as this years faire season approaches.
One of this weeks' new flags is this mushroom one inspired by a 14th-15th collection of recipees called the Dorotheenkloster MS, and represents all the good memories I've had with these fantastic fungi over the years. Including cookouts with friends, mushroom season in Alaska with family, and so many more. 🍄
Wishing you all a magic filled week. May you spend it with those who make you feel mushy. ❤️

The owl tattoo reminded me of a Blodeuwedd connection that I made in the HOFAS Azriel/Bryce/Nesta bonus chapter in 2024 that I’ve never seen anyone else discuss. I was convinced at the time that it was a nod to Elain’s (and Elriel’s) future story.
RIGHT after Bryce asks Azriel if he has a mate, she brushes her hand along the wall of the cave, which has been covered in art.
The art depicts a girl sitting on a toadstool, with a hound resting at her feet. It seemed strange that SJM would include a description of such a casual gesture, and my gut told me that the art itself might somehow be important. I started researching … and it led me straight to the Mabinogion.
In the 4th branch of the Mabinogion - the same branch as Blodeuwedd’s story - Gwydion, a magician, tricks a king by turning hounds into toadstools. This is one small facet of a greater story that involves Blodeuwedd, a woman “made of flowers”, who is turned into an owl when she and her warrior lover conspire to kill the man that she was magically created to be with.
Interesting that an excerpt discussing the possibility of Azriel having a mate or partner includes an Easter egg that hearkens back to a story of a woman who, at all costs, chose love over her magically-bound duty.
