The Lotus Esprit V8 Turbo which was launched back in 1996 (how old does that make you feel?) used a pair of Garrett AiResearch T25/60 turbochargers but strangely without an intercooler. Apparently the engine was detuned from it's potential of 500bhp to 350bhp to prevent gearbox damage!
These turbos had seen better days, increased oil usage and some play in the shafts meant it was time for a service to bring these back to as new or even better than new.
