I like both of them! But if you feel more comfortable with the simpler one, you should start with that, and develop your style along the way, so the flow of the story doesn't suffer (I mean if you have to concentrate too much on the style it might eat away motivation). Have you ever read Cheap Thrills web comic? I really loved it and it's fun to see how the style changed and developed during the time it went on. And it's also sort of a serious comic even tho it might not look like it first.
yes but i don’t want the style to change. if it’s going to be one way, it’s going to stay that way. i’ve been drawing in the first style for a very long time and it never gets easier. those semi-realistic styles seem more... mathematical to me? you have to follow a distinct formula for everything to look proper and proportionate. when it comes to more fluid cartoony styles, it’s whatever i say goes. it’s like art anarchism lmaoi don’t want this style to seem like a “starting point” especially when it was developed AFTER the first style. that makes me feel like a not-so-swell artist, you know?
