What if: Larry but hamsters? with the LARGEST CAGE SETUP and like those colorful tubes that always looked so incredible in the pet store as kids

Hello wonderful person, this ask made my day! 💖 I once joked with @allwaswell16 and @himynameiszayn that I would write a hamster direction fic so this isn't the first time I've thought of the boys as hamsters, it just fits them so well 😂

Before we go any further, I apologize for the infodump you've just unwittingly unleashed. I have had two hamsters so far. When I decided to get my first hamster, I did a ton of research. There have been a lot of changes in recent years of what is considered best for hamsters. The colorful tubes do look cool, but I found that there's mixed reviews on if they are safe, so I opted not to use them. I am drawn to some of the more natural style cages. They can look so beautiful and can definitely see larry hamsters living their best lives in habitats like these!

Hamsters need way more space than you'd probably expect. The good part about large cages is that there is more room for activities! They can have a wheel, hideouts, sand baths, dig boxes, and lots of bedding for burrowing to make their own home. Natural habitats like this also can have an abundance of herbs, dried flowers, and grains like millet, amaranth, and flax for them to forage and snack on!

(While it is fun to imagine larry as hamsters, I want to add a little disclaimer that it is not recommended to keep more than one hamster in a cage, they are territorial and do best on their own. If you're thinking of getting a hamster, please do your research, and consider adopting from a small animal rescue if possible!)
