Jack Gives Up
The sub title of Louis Trimble’s novel is Was He Wolf, Lion… Or Lamb?
For me, this conjured up images of the fugitive man hiding behind the door as, in my interpretation, a female private detective finally tracks him down, being either a lascivious hunter, a dangerous masculine fighter, or a weak man, weary of the chase, and ready to surrender to the “relentless” woman pursuing him. Naturally, I went for the final option! To be fair, “Jack’s” expression is furtive and hunted, so I may not be too far off the mark…
