Bound: The Ordeal of Being Known and The Rewards of Being Loved by louisfake
I bound these for the @renegadeguild exchange. I'm quite happy with how they came out, except there was a little bit of glue strikethrough on the covers. I made the bookcloth, and I think the quilting cotton I used was just a little too thin. But I had very specific colors in mind, and while it's frustrating, I don't think it ruined them.
The HTV is a really lovely holographic silver that was I think the Joann's store brand, so it was cheap, yay! And wasn't as nightmarish to work with as other HTV tends to be.
The Ordeal bind has flowers in the typeset, specifically different images of narcissus blossoms for each chapter header.
The Rewards bind has a simpler typeset (it was a bonus bind anyway, so I justified it that way.) (But really I just couldn't think of a theme for graphics.) (Let's just call it "elegant.")
I also sewed the endbands for these, and I'm happy with how they came out, but man, I still struggle with them. But I have a bunch of spools of silk thread, so I guess I'd better stick with it.
The endpapers are my beloved Ink Drops by Craft Consortium, these are in the Midnight colorway.

My absolute fave Drarry. It's rough and rly hard and painful. Basically the 6th book got rewritten by the author and therefore the whole canon got changed. Main character dearth, IT HAS A HAPPY ENDING tho.
Draco gets kidnapped by Fenir Greyback and forced to work in a stripclub, sa'ed and drugged a lot. Harry wants to help him get out. Very dark, very heavy, do not read if mentally unstable. It can trigger a lot.
When Grimmauld Place begins fighting against Harry’s ownership of it, he decides he needs help to train the historic home — but little does he expect that it’ll be Malfoy who’s most suitable for the challenge.
When Auror Potter is anonymously cursed with silence by being forced to hide his own voice inside his mind, there's unfortunately only one person in the country with the qualifications to fix it: Certified and Licensed Healer Legilimens, Draco Malfoy, specialist in Mind Curses and Afflictions.

This is so good I fell in love with the whole plot, it's rly well researched, and it all started with a oneshot: After he sees Harry Potter naked in the Auror showers once, Draco can't stop thinking about him. fell in love with a fucking OC character and felt like Harry (my fav character) doesnt deserve the oc bc he's too kindhearted. THIS FIC HAS SEVERAL BOOK LONG PARTS 5 books BUT IT HASNT BEEN UPDATED SINCE 2019 but it'S fucking worth the read still.
I am no longer engaging in any HP content, I cant be where turfs try to delete human beings. HP fandom was my home since i was in elementary school and it broke my heart so much to learn the cruelty behind this person's mind. So... I hope i can reconnect at some point. Bc Darry is everything and also I need to enter Marauders side of the world. Anygays.
I’ve been trying to find this fic for a few days now and I cannot find it so I’m hoping you can help
It’s a post war fic where Harry is an auror and gets cursed by someone so he can’t speak. After being hit with said curse he’s sent to healer Draco Malfoy who uses occlumency (really hope I spelled that right) to try and figure out who cursed Harry and how to break the curse. Towards the end of the fic, after Harry is cured Draco is kidnapped and Harry finds out he had magical restraints as a part of his punishment after the war.

One thing you may or may not already know from my previous recs, I love, ADORE, a good poly fic and I have to say Licurici is at the very top of my list. I wasn't sure about this pairing at first, because I am a very hardcore Drarry shipper, yet this fic has demonstrated beutifully how freaking deliciously Charlie just makes sense in this dynamics. He is the calm they need, the experience, the wilderness, the absolute devotion and acceptance. He is somehow exactly what both Harry and Draco need and I just... *melting*
There are quite a few aspects that make this story exceptional, let me enlist just a few:
Charlie being an empath (!)
while Draco is an excellent Occlumens (the angst!!)
THE DRAGONS! I would die for Mathilde. I kept imagining her as Hiccups from "How to train your dragon" and I couldn’t help falling in love with her 🐉🖤
the fact that the Malfoy grounds are being repurposed for a dragon sanctuary – as in, a place of healing and safety and DRAGONS
Charlie coming home. Not a lot of works out there describe that and I absolutely loved this aspect of the story.
Last but not least, big shoutout to @phoenixortheflame who has done a stunning bind of this fic with @saijordison Challengers-inspired art on the cover no less <3

5. Harry "conducting the electricity between them" which is the hottest and also most fitting description of their relationship at the time.
6. I am a complete sucker for situations where the third person is simply needed, like, logistically. So when Harry does his Auror stunts and Draco needs Charlie to take care of him or when Harry is in Mungo's and Draco needs Charlie there – I AM MELTED INTO THE GROUND.
7. Oh and the sex. I mean, phew, oh boy, these scenes were just SO HOT.
OKAY NOW MY FAV PART: Freaking Draco/Charlie dynamics.
I have a soft spot for the less obvious relationship in the triad, between „the others", so to say. Because Harry and Draco – that's just natural. Harry/Charlie – as we get Charlie's POV that’s also somehow... just makes sense. But Charlie and Draco – now, that's new.
At first, it seems that Harry – and their love for him – is the only thing they have in common (as beautifully illustrated in the Final Battle scene). But as the story progresses, we learn Draco's POV, we can see his "soft belly", we see Charlie falling for him and for Harry AND Draco's feelings. So once we are at this moment in the story, Harry basically just became a (cery pretty) ornament in this relationship for me 😅 And I LOVED how it was portrayed, how Charlie and Draco MAKE SO MUCH SENSE IF THEY JUST LET THEMSELVES TO.
He looked over at Draco, who was looking back at him with a tired, knowing expression, leaning his head back on the cushion. Draco had given him a similar look earlier this year, at Teddy’s first birthday, and again on Andromeda’s birthday in September; the only two times they’d seen each other. It wasn’t quite a smile, but it wasn’t anything else. It was a slight crinkling of the skin around his eyes, a gentle brightness. The corner of Draco’s lips might quirk upwards, almost accidentally. His fingers would fidget restlessly with his sleeve or the hem of his shirt, but his eyes wouldn’t leave Harry’s.
It was something like gratitude, almost, simultaneous wariness and warmth—don’t wake the baby.
Harry opened his mouth, but Draco held up a finger to his own lips; a silent shh. Harry couldn’t stop the smile from breaking out on his face, nestling a sleepy Teddy against his chest.
“Happy Christmas,” he mouthed, and for the first time ever, Draco’s hesitant smile bloomed in a warm, secretive way that felt like it was just for Harry.
A very sweet Christmas fic featuring letters and naps and Teddy and a little bit of pining.
I have several comfort fics in many different ways, but this fic, to me, is the most comforting of them all. The Rewards of Being Loved by louisfake (sequel to The Ordeal of Being Known).
The depth of love and care and want and pining and reassurance and earnestness in this fic is absolutely everything I need. It features some of my absolute favorite drarry scenes I’ve ever read. I do recommend reading TOoBK first, but please please don’t pass this one up.
not to mention the smut is hot as fuck 🔥 emotional and needy and desperate and soft and tbh the fic is 1/2 smut and it’s EXCELLENT.
The Ordeal of Being Known and The Rewards of Being Loved by louisfake destroyed me. I don’t think I’ve read a more beautifully written fanfic so far. I’m still a sucker for Dramione, but omg this version of the Drarry ship ripped my heart out only to rebuild it. The love story in the first fic and the smut in the second were absolutely perfect. Probably one of the best fics I’ve read yet.
