How do you think Tentoo and Rose spent their first marriage anniversary? Who planned everything? Who went overboard with the present? Do they celebrate their wedding anniversary the same as the anniversary of them overstepping the 'not-yet-lovers-but-more-than-friends-line'?

You know, I really love the idea that they don't jump into things all at once, and that they're quite nervous?? They take it slow, it's all a bit awkward when they get back because, does he stay at Rose's? Does she ask him to sleep in her bed? Does he just automatically take the sofa because he doesn't want to presume? When they introduce him to Tony, how are they together? Does his big sister now all of a sudden have a boyfriend, or does Tony already know about what she and the Doctor were to each other?

When's the first time Rose refers to him as her boyfriend? How does that make him feel? Does he feel a bit awkward and nervous to call Rose his girlfriend? Does she still have her friends or are they their friends now? What about all those weekends away she had booked for work, does he go with her now? Weddings and baptisms — does the Doctor become Tony's god parent? It's all a bit nerve-racking at first, and neither really know how to be with the other. Until one day, they realise that he's picking up Tony from nursery because he knows she's got to finish that case, and she can't go for dinner with Mickey's nan because the Doctor can't do Wednesday but maybe Thursday? They start to realise their lives have become their life and that's how they begin to settle into a relationship.

It seems silly because they should know straight away how they feel and that they're impossibly in love with the other, but, even though that's true and they really know how the other feels, this is a whole new life for them now and they only get one shot to be together — it's the only thing in their life they take seriously, it's the only thing in their life they take the time to strengthen and nurture and it's a bit strange at first. But they get there!

I reaaaally like the idea that every year, on the anniversary of the time they said goodbye to each other, they go back to the beach though. They laugh every year about how he just had to burn up a sun in bloody January when it's freezing and always raining. But they always find a way to smile, and eventually, they can look at the place where they both once stood. They get married there, right in that very spot, so he can finally tell her he loves her and finish that sentence.

So on their anniversary, that very same day that they said goodbye and forever only a few years later, they go back. He organises the first one, but she knows it's coming anyway because they've been doing it every year. He gets their flights, he organises transport, he makes sure there's a little set up there waiting for her when they get to the beach. No flowers or daft things like that that Rose never really needs (he saves those for the occasional day when she leasts expects it), just stargazing with a bag of chips (that they always complain about because they're just not the same)

Loup, you cannot tell me that right after BWB Tentoo and Rose can't bear to leave the other's sight.

It gets slightly awkward when Rose insists she has to take a bath, so they both end up in the tub together still wearing their underwear (the hotel they're in provides some nice, dry pyjamas). Rose washes his back and Tentoo washes her hair. And yes, there's water all over the floor when they're done.

They do sleep in the same bed, but try to maintain some sort of distance. The bath was a bit overwhelming for both of them and they don't want to take things too fast.

They fall asleep holding hands, but when they wake up Rose finds herself half on top of him with their legs in a tangled mess. Tentoo also takes a longer time to wake up than her, and is quite happy to use her as his personal teddy bear.

!!!!!!! This fuels my joy this evening.

Imagineeeeee. I will forever root for the trope that, at some point, Rose yanks the Doctor into the bathtub with her, fully clothed, much to his protest, but then he sees how upset she is and, suddenly a wet shirt doesn't seem all that much of a nuisance.

Their first night is is intriguing to me, and I write about it in a fic that I was supposed to publish literally last week but I do the thing I always do when I'm about to post — panic about posting. BUT I think Rose probably doesn't feel comfortable enough yet to sleep with him in the same bed? She's still sort of processing it, and its weird, and she's grieving her love... who's also stood there opposite her and it's just a lot. They've been without each other for so long and she just needs a bit of time to come to terms with it.

Of course though, she can't sleep knowing that the Doctor is there, the man she's been fighting for and has missed with everything she has, so she clambers into bed with him and clings onto him tightly and he just sort of... lets her. I think he's probably a bit trepidatious too because he's aware that he's not the man she wants because, and this is something I think gets swept under the rug, he is Ten in that he knows exactly what Ten was doing on the beach. He knows his counterpart was forcing her to be with him, and he knows she wanted to be with Ten instead. So she has to come to him, and he has to try and not cling on to her when she does.

But YES to them falling asleep holding hands!! And I think it's what makes Tentoo wanting to snuggle up to her the next morning that much more real - because he knows she reached out for him in the middle of the night and his one single heart is warm to the fact.

Hi! What do you think about the coral TARDIS that gave them the Ten? How often do they travel? Do they take Mia with them on their travels? Or maybe she appeared on one of these trips in the midst of adventure, danger and pursuit? Haha, just thoughts in my head😂👌

Ohhh, the TARDIS coral! Yes, I do think they spend a few months/a year or so growing her and because she's not stolen by the Doctor, she's grown by him, she loves him and they have a really strong relationship... but she prefers Rose 😂

And then Mia comes along and they're best pals, the TARDIS is always on her side! Except for the times when, you know, she's being reckless and dangerous and she's not listening to her parents. Except from when her parents are being reckless and dangerous.

I think they travel quite a lot! I sort of see it as they become allies with Torchwood? Using Torchwood's resources as opposed to his comical homemade crap, and Torchwood could have access to so much with the TARDIS. I think that's why their lives are so hectic — they travel, they work alongside Torchwood when they can' they're needed, but they also want their own time. Rose and the Doctor at first, just wanting to spend their evenings curled up on the sofa and being human, and then Mia comes along, and a lot of their parenting happens while they're travelling 😂: the best baby strollers don't come around until 2078, so they nip over to get one; the Zoh'irs community in some galaxy Rose forgets the name of know the perfect melody to sing to a newborn when they won't get to sleep and they teach the Doctor and Rose how to sing it.

Mia's not invited along at first! But with a bit of persuasion from the TARDIS, she can come along on one or two trips, just the safe ones. I love the idea that she shows up on one of the more dangerous ones, though!! But of course, Mia proves herself to be indispensable on their trips, so eventually she gets her own key.

Mia and Rose get the Doctor a subscription to "take a break" when they're sick of him pretending that he isn't obsessed with all those real life story magazines

The Doctor fawns over how clever Mia is when she takes Chemistry at A-level

Tentoo has a little bit more than a human life span (still some Time Lord energy in there somewhere) and Rose has just a little bit more than a human life span (still some Bad Wolf energy in there somewhere) and together they get to have a bit more time with one another than the average human lifespan

The Doctor and Rose try to tackle Mia's teenage pregnancy

Rose has a difficult pregnancy with Mia because she's a tiny bit Time Lord (?) and human bodies aren't equipped to grow a Time Lord's mind (the Doctor thinks of what happened to Donna and panics)

Mia looks like Jenny and that terrifies the Doctor. He swears to do everything he can to protect her and Rose because he can’t lose anybody else

The Doctor's Protec mode comes in hard when Rose becomes pregnant, but he's in over his head because how do you look after the woman strong enough to take down the devil??

Rose takes the Doctor to primark after BWB to get him a fucking shirt and tie I'll fight anyone to the end with this one tentoo missed a shirt and tie

The Doctor gives Mia her own sonic screwdriver 🥺. Rose watching him teach her how to use it leads to baby number 2

Mia inherits the ‘Wandering Off’ gene

A bit of a more lighthearted headcanon:

Mia also inherited what Tentoo likes to call the 'wandering off' gene. She sees something interesting and off she goes to investigate. It did give him and Rose a near heart-attack when two-year-old Mia went missing during a large picnic hosted by Pete.

They found her twenty minutes later, safe and sound. Mia was just fascinated by a scoreboard used by the local football team. *

Tentoo sometimes quips that she was appropriately named as she's constantly Missing In Action.

*This is actually based on something I did when I was that age.

I looooove the thought of Mia being a rascal before she's even able to string full sentences together 😂😂

I also love the thought that Mia is everybody's? You know like an everybody child, where everyone in Torchwood is just as much her parent are Tentoo/Rose? Like, they find her fascinated by the local football team's scoreboard (ummmm more on that please???) and she's sitting on the shoulders of a local footballer as he's reading out the scores for Mia to copy out lout.

Tentoo and Rose constantly snap at each other for it too like "she's got your genes! Constantly wondering off!" and rose is like "please you get so fascinated by a supermarket that we're the ones looking for you most of the time!"
