How would Nanami react to/deal with a hecking clumsy s/o? Because I can give myself more bruises daily than he could ever give me in one night. Like I don't even remember how I got the one on my upper thigh anymore and my arm looks like it got sprinkled with blueberries since I ran into the door handle 3 times in the span of one hour...
Nanami is unerringly careful, but he can’t help but sometimes get injured in his line of work. He’s learnt how to treat small injuries like bruises and bumps and cuts himself (he doesn’t want to bother Shoko when things are fixable with a day or two of bearing the pain) - as such, when you find yourself bruised or grazed or scratched, he sighs and tugs you gently into the kitchen whilst he gets out the first-aid kit. He’s scrupulous about cleaning the scrapes, about making sure that you don’t make yourself worse, about giving you a soft reprimand for your clumsiness.
If he sees that you’re in danger of walking into an injury, he’ll often intervene himself - his reflexes are admirable. You have often found yourself lifted bodily off a step-ladder when you’re reaching for something left on a high shelf so Nanami can get it himself. If you complain about it, he gives you a wry smile and reminds you that he’s far less accident-prone than you, so really he’s just playing the odds. It’s less likely he’ll be injured than you doing whatever chore it is.
If he watches you accidentally run into a doorframe, or fall over your own feet, and it’s not something that he can stop, he laughs soft and low and rolls his eyes as he walks over to check on you. Firm fingers feeling along joints to make sure they’re not bruised, concerned eyes checking you over for any other damage that isn’t immediately visible. Honestly, Nanami finds your clumsiness kind of endearing, when it’s small things like this - his heart seizes up when he thinks about how dangerous it could be if you were in a profession like his.
At night, when you undress, he motions for you to come closer and those same big hands travel over your skin with the same gentleness they always do. He maps out your bruises, counting them aloud - and soothing them with kisses as he goes, as if he’s reminding you that you’re beautiful even with your skin all sprinkled with the proof of your injuries. He murmurs which ones have faded, which ones have almost gone, which ones are new - even in the brief moments you snatch together, he learns your body by heart, and Nanami wouldn’t change you for the world.
