okay I have an idea for a steven stone x reader water type trainer reader where he finds himself trapped in a cave next to the ocean that suddenly gets flooded and you save him (tho he passes out or gets injured before he realizes it), and the reader is nagging him after he wakes up and telling him how dangerous he was but he can’t focus cause he’s too focused on how beautiful the reader is and how they saved him, can I get a scenario like that? either in fem or gn reader please, and thank you!
Finally getting to this, sorry for the wait, anon!!! Had to brush up on my Steven knowledge. Wracked my brain for a while, so I hope you still enjoy what I came up with :)
Steven Stone x gn! water type trainer, switching POVs, established relationship
Steven ran his hand along the damp walls of the cave. "This is truly amazing. It's likely no one has touched these walls in years."
His Metagross chimed a low tone behind him. The two continued to walk, footsteps echoing through puddles of ocean water left behind with the tide.
"The tunnels themselves are primarily sandstone. But deeper in we should be able to find basalt. Beneath it should be lava tubes and if we're lucky we might find some pure hematite deposits!" Steven's tone grew slightly more cheerful. Metagross gave a gentle clank. "Apologies, dear friend. I'm rambling," he chuckled. "Let's go deeper."
The two of them ventured deeper into the cave together.
It was another day of work for you. You worked with the coast gaurd, ensuring that each day as the tide changed, beach goers remained safe in the water. Your boat bobbed in the water, your crew at the other side.
"I'm going to do a lap with Milotic before the tide comes back in," you called to no one in particular. You tossed up a dive ball, a gift from Steven after you told him about the Feebas you visited daily on your way to work. "Ready to go, gorgeous?"
Milotic sang out and positioned herself next to the boat for you to grab on.
"Water is shallow, girl. Tide's coming in soon. Let's do our usual lap." You gave Milotic a pat to let her know to start moving.
In the cave, Steven was too engrossed with some line in the wall he found to notice the water starting to lap at his ankles. "Metagross, look at this!" His fingers traced a line of obsidian. "We're close, I can feel it!"
Metagross shifted it's limbs around uncomfortably as salt water licked it's steel.
Steven looked back at his partner's sound of discomfort. "Oh no." He quickly reached for a pokeball. "Sit tight, I'll get us out of here as soon as I can grab a sample." He recalled Metagross out of the water and exchanged the pokeball in his hand for a small hammer and chisel. He barely heard the sound of sirens indicating the impending tidal change.
Your lap around the rocky cliffside was going smoothly. You heard the warning calls from the lighthouse on shore. "Let's go check that cave over there," you nudged Milotic towards your left.
You paused at the mouth of the cave and raised your voice, "INCOMING TIDE! IF ANYONE IS INSIDE, YOU NEED TO EVACUATE IMMEDIATLY!" You scoffed, "Don't know who would go in with such quick changing waters this seaon anyway."
Milotic flicked her tail uneasily.
Your brow furrowed. "What's wrong?" You furrowed your brow and squinted to look further inside. You noticed what appeared to be a figure.
"What idiot-" your idiot. "STEVEN STONE IS THAT YOU?!"
The man chuckled. "Am I in trouble?"
"YES" you snapped!
He waded into the water, the height to his thighs now. "Just with you or with the coast gaurd?"
"With me." You nudged Milotic closer so Steven could climb up behind you. "What in Arceus's name were you thinking? You could have drowned."
"Look," he held out a small sample tube with a fragment of obsidian. "I know there must be hematite deeper in. I just have to find the right time to go down."
You sighed softly. "Is there any limit to the kind of danger you'll put yourself in for a rock?"
"It's not just a rock." He leaned in and kissed your cheek. "Thank you for saving me. I'm a poor swimmer really. Sink like a stone."
"I'm aware."
"Will you bring me back out when the tide has gone again?"
"Absolutely not." Milotic began to swim away from the incoming current.
"Fine, I'll return on my own another day. I suppose I owe Metagross a proper polish after making it stand in salt water for hours."
"Oh, the poor thing will rust," yoou pouted.
Steven chuckled softly. "Yes, and you know how particular it is about it's shine."
"Like trainer like 'mon," you smiled.
He smiled softly, leaning closer to you for an easy ride back to shore on your Milotic. He always enjoyed riding along with you. He admired how connected you two were in the water. "Like trainer like 'mon," he repeated softly.
made a post on reddit about how I think journeys steven looks better than xy steven (which THAT IS STILL A HILL IM WILLING TO DIE ON) and this comment made me laugh
