i know ya’aburnee by halsey is supposed to signify that she has chosen love, but i can’t help but hear the longing in it. The whole concept of the album is Love and Power and in the end she almost certainly chooses Love, but there is still some sadness and longing in there. the first verse of ya’aburnee is like “i am in love, it consumes me” and the second verse is more “i am in love and it makes me insecure, but i would still die for you” and i think that’s what makes the ending of iichliwp so beautiful.
