I have gone to a couple “Old School” club events thinking that the dj would immerse me in my youth only to end up spending the night listening to new released music with a few old school songs mixed in. I feel like I wouldn’t have that problem with @iamdjprince01 ... he seems well versed in music created decades before he even existed. It’s refreshing. #princerogersnelson #sheilae #lovebizarre #auntiekim #oldschoolmusic https://www.instagram.com/p/BuAATkXh0mO6znMdbN55GKKSeDggJOiBoc9NfQ0/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=12hsvlaypbe3q

@Regranned from @princearchives - “A Love Bizarre” by Prince and Sheila E. This song was featured in the 1985 movie, Krush Groove. Who’s gonna rent that tonight in honor of Sheila’s birthday? #krushgroove #sheilae @sheilaedrummer @blairunderwood_official #ripprince #prince #lovebizarre - #regrann
@Regranned from @princearchives - Happy Birthday to one of Prince’s closest collaborators and source of inspiration, Sheila E. Sheila was already a successful percussionist by the time she met Prince, having toured with acts including Herbie Hancock, Diana Ross, and Marvin Gaye. Although they met in 1978, her collaboration with Prince began in 1983 and lasted throughout his lifetime. They began working together during the Purple Rain sessions. Her vocals can be heard on “Erotic City.” Prince then co-wrote and produced her first two albums and biggest singles, “Glamorous Life” and “Love Bizarre.” Sheila continued to tour with Prince to promote his next several albums and eventually became the band’s musical director. Sheila E. has admitted in recent interviews that she and Prince were briefly engaged. Although Sheila officially left Prince’s band in 1989, the two continued to collaborate throughout his career. Happy Birthday to the Queen of Percussion! #sheilae #prince #funkydrummer #lovesexy #ripprince @sheilaedrummer #purplerain #eroticcity #glamorouslife #lovebizarre - #regrann
