The vital information about our Indian Flag The Indian Flag was adoption on July22,1947. It was created by Pingali Vankayya. The three colours in it-Saffron represents courage and sacrifice. White denotes peace, unity and truth and green stands for faith and fertility.The wheel in the middle of the tricolor is called 'Ashoka Chakra' mainly because it appears on many edicts of Ashoka specially on the 'Lion Capital of Ashoka'. This wheel is also called 'wheel of time ' and 'Dharma Chakra',the wheel of law. It was says so because it has 24 spokes like 24 hrs in a day. Also,it's each spoke symbolises one principal of life i.e. chastity, health, peace, sacrifice, morality, service, forgiveness, love, friendship, fraternity, organization, welfare, prosperity, industry,safety, awareness, equality, artha, policy, justice, Cooperation, duties, rights and wisdom.
