Trishna’s Sathak ❤️ Now, Trishna described this event to me as ‘basically I sit on a stage with my family and people bring us gifts’, which, looking at the photos, seems pretty accurate lol, which is why there aren’t a ton of close ups of her hair and makeup (keep scrolling for the videos we took just beforehand to see it up close!). But I was also super curious about the significance of this ceremony, and this is what I found on the internet: This ceremony bears a deep religious significance in Gujarati weddings because the parents of the couple seek the blessings of Mother Earth and ask permission to commence with the digging of the soil to erect the mandva or mandap - for those who don’t know, this is the structure the couple is married under, which traditionally would have gone into the ground. What an amazing weekend! Trishna and Tejas's wedding was absolutely incredible, and though it's great to be home, I'm a little bummed that it's over!
