Today you called D for money. You borrowed $500 from him and you told him it was due to your unemployment check not coming through yet. Are you sure you didn’t spend it on weed or something you wanted and didn’t really need? Did JJ, your asshole of a son, need another toy? I know you feel like you have no control over your life right now. It’s evidenced by you always talking about how you hate those extra pounds you put on during your pregnancy almost seven years ago, how your forehead wrinkles have gotten deeper and more defined over these past years. You care about Dennis and how he feels about you, however Dennis has lost all care for you and only views you as a roommate. He’s a selfish asshole who will always be childish. Your child is a heathen, as well. He’s three feet of pure greed with a need to punch every guy in the balls and runs away laughing because he knows how to piss you off and have no punishment. You’ve let go on your will to control your life. You have no control over your life anymore. It’s not too late, though. You can get that control back. You just have to realized how your life is going and how you’re letting life take your time from you. You no longer have any enjoyment, only depression. You need to be the one to put your foot down and turn your life into a determined movement working towards what YOU want. You don’t have to bend to the wills of those around you all the time. While Cambodia is synonymous with the famous temple complex Angkor Wat, the post-Angkorian period is far less studied. Considered to be a dark time in the Kingdom’s history, an ongoing excavation at the country’s former capital city Longvek – now just a small village – offers evidence to suggest otherwise

Longvek was the ancient capital of Cambodia between the 16th and 17th centuries. Archaeologist Martin Polkinghorne is in charge of an ongoing excavation at the site and is hoping to shed some light on what is widely known as the country’s “dark age”.

Led by Polkinghorne, the excavation is a joint collaboration between the Cambodian Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts and Japan’s Nara National Research Institute for Cultural Properties.

“The emergence of [Longvek] occurred after the Angkorian period,” Polkinghorne said. “Understanding [it] is critical to understanding Angkor, especially the demise of Angkor.”
