Hey do you want to talk to us about Cú Chulainn?

one thing that I find very interesting about him is that he gets along with other people easily but he rarely if ever truly fits in. in fha he adapts to modern city life faster and more smoothly than all the other servants but he still stands out wherever he goes. he works six different part-time jobs and does well at all of them but he’ll never be a regular part-time worker with the way he keeps using his demigod hero superpowers on the job. he blends into the regular scenery at the fuyuki harbor but he’s not a regular fisherman, sitting there not even using a stand, just holding the rod completely motionless in his hands for hours on end. he flirts with the track and field club by casually bringing up his superhuman feats. he’s at home in this world but you can always tell that he’s not a part of it. 

and this is something that is unchanged from his life, which is precisely the reason he has so little issue with adapting to modern society as a servant. he doesn’t fit with the trainee kids because he’s a legendary warrior, he doesn’t fit with the warriors because he’s a kid, when they do accept him as warrior he still doesn’t fit because he is far stronger than all of them, he doesn’t fit with the monsters because he’s human, he doesn’t fit with the humans because he’s a monster. he’s with the red branch yet fights whole armies on his own, he’s with ulster yet his best friend is from connacht, and he is by definition ireland’s greatest hero yet constantly had to prove himself as such. he’s someone who exists just outside whatever he aligns himself with. cu can get along with nearly anyone regardless of whether they’re enemy or ally because he fits in everywhere and nowhere. 

this might appear somewhat sad, and it is, but like everything about him it’s also exactly what he wanted. he never had any intention of not standing out. a shooting star lights up the sky without becoming part of it, but that transience is exactly what makes it special. because cu is so many things at once, and none of it aligns with the established boundaries of the world he lived in, he had to decide for himself who he is and what he wants to be and that is the person he unequivocally became.

I mean Hawke has always been a really cool protagonist, i think, because the story of “unwilling hero” is always compelling (to me, at least) also the ME trilogy is for chads periodt.

as for why ~I~ dont like DA, i found it to be a bland fantasy with pathetic racial allegories and boring writing. and what i did find interesting in Dragon age, DAI pretty much ruined all of it. Placing all your mysteries on one obnoxious man is bad writing. That’s the short of it.

As for why i drag DA stans, well, they poisoned my water supply, burned my crops, and delivered a plague onto my house.

I genuinely do not care if you like the DA series or not. its just funny to me how people make da their personality and convulse when someone says “maybe DA isnt good”

Here’s a few:

Diana, the owner of the instrument shop where the Revolutionary Army meets in IoS, was also going to be a very minor character in a different fic. So minor, in fact, that I’m not sure now if she’ll make it to the page, so I can say this: she’s an information broker and doesn’t pick sides, so she’s receiving money from the Revolutionary Army, pirates and government alike.

I PLANTED THE TANGERINE SHAMPOO FIVE YEARS AGO FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF TORTURING LAW WHEN HE WAS ON THE SUNNY.

I had Saki beat Law’s head with his own hat in Dressrosa because it was the same thing she did when he jumped in the sewers years ago.

I’m aware it’s very heavy-handed, but the narration of the OP self-insert I posted the other day keeps making references to friends that eventually are going to be at fault for everything. The first two/three chapters are honestly just me planting seeds around.

I started Folding Socks as a joke to throw a coffee at Aizawa and as a feel good story and I love that I had an apparent murder mystery in my hands by chapter two. I can’t say much else because I don’t remember up to what point I posted, and I don’t want to spoil what comes next.

I confess that, for the longest time, the idea was to have at some point Flagel’s ship attack Marina’s and sink it with her crew, and then getting her rescued by the Heart Pirates. But that would have meant going out of the way to confront Flagel later and give Mari closure, and she would have lost way too much. It wasn’t necessary, I had a hard time imagining her recovering from that, and Howe and Phillip are better alive and getting married.

I’ve said this a thousand times, but I love how Makoto and Yuusuke get along so well. I didn’t expect at all how her character was going to mesh with most of the cast, but her interactions with him in particular were very satisfying to write because they played off of each other very well. Her conversations usually turn awkward because of how weird she is, but Yuusuke didn’t allow them to because he doesn’t care. Contrast with Kuwabara, who... poor dear, they appreciate each other very much, but they cannot hold a conversation to save their lives.

-i tend to hc my favs as short??? idk why, just fun size potential, maybe it has to do with height differences?

-i read one sessh/kag fic where he had dimples and my heart hasn't been able to let it go since,,,(but also i just love giving charas dimples kdjfnvkjdfnvdk see souta and kagome in my other fic)

-i personally don't mind the hc's where the iy cast is in the future and have money, i think part of it is, you want your favs to do well? but secondly, and most importantly it just kinda makes sense in a way? to be fair i've read/seen a number of fics that do the opposite where he's broke/not doing well or a floating/migrating myth, which are perfectly fine!! i just,,again tend to hc that he does well,,dkfjvnkdnfv

-idk if hc or not but i like to think if ranma and akane had met, or had time away from family/etc they would have gotten a lot closer/their relationship been a lot smoother, but now as i few their canon ship, i see that it would stagnat both and they'd be better friends/or like siblings (and i may or may not play upon that idea in my upcoming/current fics,,ahaa)

-some other minor ones, like the deku/dekuquan/black community claiming him as ours kdxfjvnkdjbfd there are a lot of jokes on tiktok that say he'd be tenderheaded,,,,,,,but i would like to make an argument that the opposite would be true,,,also i love how tiktok had claimed mina, which is pretty much canon dxfkjgvnkdnxfvg

-i love playing with the idea my favs do something in the arts, from ballet, to music, to singing, to even tiktok dances kdfjnvkfsn so it's something that pops up a lot for me!

-midoriya's mumbling isn't audible/it's just that literal muttering, and he only ever does it specifically when it's about hero's or quirks, he is info dumping/theorizing,,,he is nOT speaking every thought that comes out his head kdfjvnkjdfvnk i get lowkey pressed when in fics, he's just saying everything he's thinking aloud, when in canoN ,,IT'S LITTERALLY JUST A MUMBLY WORD DUMP AAAAAAAA

-jumin han and sesshomaru are not inherently assholes,,,again so many fics, or rather in the case for sesshomaru, i haven't read many for jumin but i've read those mc does _, and everyone tends to paint them as sadistic assholes just to be assholes???? and eye,,,

like, again this is personally a thing, but yeah they're not the nicest in the series they're in, but also i think it's hard to express emotions you've never felt/gone through and people tend to ignore their own traumas and just sum up to, rich asshole and just aaaaaaaaaaaaa

-speaking on canon/fanon,,,,,,,,,i do not recognize dabi canon dkjfvnkjdngv lIKE I DO,,,BUT I DON'T BECAUSE BRO,,,i swg *spoilers* but before the reveal, it was heavily implied that endeavor forced the training on dabi, now to come out and say "dabi pushed himself" (which still due to parental abuse but) it feels rather victim blamey and also the whole arc feels like a lowkey retcon to make endeavor look better and just AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA*spoiler ends*

-akane isn't as violent as fandom makes her out to be, and the unfounded violence in the series is more to do with slapstick comedy than this character is physically taking it out on another (i understand even for slapstick, doesn't make it okay), but people point out akane more so than any other female lead, and it's because she's quick to anger/shows her jealously more so than the other girls. but compared to the other girls she also shows 10x more the compassion to unaffiliated characters and even her other "Rivals" alike and idk where im going with this but akane deserved better and i'll die on this hill dlfjkvldjkfn

i realize that after the midoriya one it became less hard and fast hc and more dkfjvnkdjfnvd ideas about these charas im willing to fight over and have paragraph long excerpts to talk about because i can't shut up dkjnvkjdnvd i'm so sorry

debatably this could also be said for free/and yoi technically, because i did watch them, but i don't think i personally finished them, i mostly read a lot of reactions and again fics and know the story tangentially, i mention yoi but i lowkey consider myself in that fandom so it doesn't count

i also faintly know about fate, twewy and jjk due to friends! don't fully know what's going on but i love to hear about it from them! C:
