A gold swimming pool in Passikudah, Sri Lanka This is one of the best swimming pool I have ever seen in my life, starting from the entrance of the Sunrise by Jetwing Resort and finishing at the beach. A never ending flow of water that at sunset becomes gold on a red sky. Lights of Esala Perahara The procession began with the arrival of the famous tooth relic in 310 AD. It is still existing today and it lasts 10 days, around beginning of August. What impressed me the most? The man of fire - Esala Perahara The Esala Perahara pageant in Kandy/Sri Lanka is one of the most amazing religious festival in Asia. The pageant is accompanied by the men of fire, on both sides of the street. These are the people carrying balls of fire (burning shells of coconuts mixed with oil) at the highest temperature you can imagine, sweating, with aching muscles and sometime getting burned by dripping hot oil. One thing I can't describe with the photo is the music, non-stop, louder and louder till the Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha arrived. Bathing time in Si Lanka Highlands Driving through Sri Lanka has been an experience by itself. I was able to live the country in every corner making stops in sites that otherwise I would have missed all together. The Minneriya National Park What you can always find in Sri Lanka are elephants. I spotted a few in a temple the other day, last morning i saw one walking on the street and another herd bathing in the river. Minneriya is almost 9,000 hectares big and you need a jeep and a driver to go through this amazing area! Elephants and wildlife are literally everywhere. Driving through Sri Lanka Highlands and tea plantations has been so far the highlight of my trip (but everyday I say the same LOL). What has impressed me the most is the diversity of the environment and the kindness the people.
