oh what an absolutely MAD TIME this was!
see, she receives such a lovely invitation to come by for tea. alice traverses the marshlands, simply to get here! within the cozy claustrophobia of the woods that hold on at every side, and how it's a wonder that alice makes it at all with any sense of timing. she's no white rabbit, hopped up on ANXIETY as a kink, wired to worry for what the red queen thought of them, oh! how foolish. there's no use for all that when the world around them was filled with such glorious curiosities! it's why she can't quite help but be distracted, her pathway always filled with new things and the hint of what could be the next grand adventure taken, but she makes it, of course she makes it, and she even has her little basket of goodies to share, just to be a good guest, as one should!
alice, oh alice, comes a calling! no need to knock here, the whole affair has been laid out upon the lawn, as it ought to be. the celebration is unclear, but perhaps that was the entire APPEAL of it all. that meant it may be an unbirthday, it may be high tea in the name of flabbityjacks and willywonks. who cared! they could do as they well pleased! and a party needed no real reason to be had, was the simple explanation, as both arms open as she flies into the familiar arms, all crash limbed laughter as she pushes herself back, her prize held up in between them. "wait! i bring treats. enough for us all. is the dormouse joining us? where's my pretty girl hiding?" ah, alas, alas! it seems to be the three of them, but there's no doubt that that's well plenty for tea, placing her well-intentioned scones upon the table. "i haven't left you waiting too long, have i? or at least you know ell enough to start without me if it was!"
