LovendoR tanked because Tsunku thought of it as a way to keep Reina. She texted him mid-2012 saying she wanted to graduate/retire and he panicked and went to UFA with the idea. She was never going to put 120% into a project that only came about to convince her to stay. If they let her go like she wanted I imagine her performing itch would’ve came back after a few years and she would have re-debuted with a fresh start with a different agency like her idol Goto.
