HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!
Have some fun relationship charts I filled out for Lovephishing + Lucky for some reason. He’s allowed to be here
doom and cw like to eavesdrop on roblox & scripter’s first few dates because a.) it’s really funny to watch them fumble through what feels like a high school relationship and b.) they have nothing better to do and are very bored and these two are free entertainment
Doombringer: Ah, with Builds and Shed gone we can finally relax from these drama filled relationships
Clockwork: Yup. We never have to deal with this ever again
Doombringer: Yup. So relaxing
Clockwork: Yeah
…
Clockwork: Do you wanna go spy on Roblox and Scripter?
Doombringer: I thought you’d never ask
THE BEAUTIFUL BRIDE AND RHE UGLY ASS GROOM JM CRUYING
taking photos with them is awful because scripter looks lovely and then all of a sudden you hear this agitating grating voice /ref
This is them
the moment luke’s eyes opened he was heaving for breath, hungrily drinking in the air like he’d held his breath for too long and was on the verge of suffocating without it. the feeling of breathing burned his lunges and sent him into a spiral, because he shouldn’t be breathing in the first place. he died. he knows he died. his little brother turned out to be the vigilante that’s been running around on rooftops saving people every day, the hero that he was tasked to kill. he died trying to kill and then protect scripter, because scripter was spiderman and luke had to kill spiderman to save his lovers. fuck, he shouldn’t be alive. he knows he died in scripter’s arms in that moment, he could feel the way his heart was giving out and remembered his life flashing before his eyes. he’s dead. he’s dead but he’s still breathing, and that makes no sense because dead people can’t breathe why is he breathing—
luke frantically looks around, and catches a glimpse of red and black that makes him freeze and his undead, impossibly beating heart sounds deafening in his ears. “y— you—”, he started, but the words got caught in his throat from the oxygen he’d been desperately choking on and the overwhelming fear that permeated his brain. “what did— what did you do to me?”, he whispered, as if the question led to forbidden knowledge and he was afraid of the answer. in a twisted, selfish thought, luke wished he stayed dead, because dying was easier than accepting that he was failing his loved ones regardless of his next move. he was a pawn in a chess game with his his color at checkmate, and he’d rather feel nothing at all than the guilt and grief of having such familiar blood on his hands no matter what he tries to do.
but spectre didn’t answer, barely even passing him a glance before walking away. luke couldn’t help the way his hands clenched into fists, vaguely noting the claws of his gloves clicking together. “answer me!”, he shouted, as if he was capable of hurting the other. as if he wasn’t a muzzled dog, all bark and no bite.
spectre never gave him the mercy of a verbal response, hardly pausing in its steps before walking forward. luke sprinted to catch up to it, claws outstretched and ready to swipe at the awful thing in front of him. it took away his life, his partners, and now it’s been trying to take away scripter, too, and luke’s fear was shoved aside for the pure fury at his family being dragged into this. and for what? for what purpose? it doesn’t matter, because nothing will ever be worth inflicting this much pain and suffering on so many people, on so many people that he cares about.
luke never gets to attack. right before he’s about to swipe, he gets picked up and thrown. it’s almost humiliating how easily he was stopped, like he was nothing more than an inconvenience, but the fight leaves his throat as he realizes the new room he’s been thrown into.
the room is nearly empty, save for the pictures that line the walls and the middle of the room, which—
“holy shit, luke!? is that really you?”
luke’s eyes widened as he took in the sight of harlem and dued, back to back and tied to chairs. dued hadn’t moved yet and his head was slumped down, but harlem was staring right at him with wide eyes. they both looked a little worse for wear, given how they’d probably been neglected here since they’ve gone missing (since luke was too weak to protect them, since they were held hostage because of him), but they weren’t injured. a little worn, but they were okay, and luke felt giddy at the fact that he was even seeing them at all after so long of their absence. harlem tilted his head back and bumped against dued, and dued snaps upright at the contact. he looks a little confused, usually fluffed hair now matted against his eyes, but he sees luke and his lips part, as if a million words are caught in his throat and he doesn’t know which ones to say first. the sight of both his partners, his lovers he hasn’t seen in months, both of them okay, almost sends him into tears right then and there. but he snaps out of his stupor after a moment, and he sprints to them like a man starved.
“dued! harlem!”, luke shouts, stumbling off the ground. not that he’s on his feet for long, though, because the moment he gets close to them he’s immediately on his knees, about to tear the ropes that hold his beloveds captive. that seems to break dued out of whatever knot was caught in his throat. “be careful,”, he muttered. “the ropes are electrified. don’t want you to get shocked, too.”
harlem barked a laugh at that, and dued chuckled alongside him, as if them being electrocuted is nothing more than a joke, as if the knowledge of them getting hurt doesn’t break luke’s already-shattered heart into even smaller pieces. luke nods and looks up, sees the way both of them are smiling but their eyes look watery, and luke’s eyes start to water, too. he tilts his head down and starts tugging at the ropes gently, so as to not hurt the two, but desperate to free them so he can hold them in his arms and never let go again.
not that he gets far. because the moment he starts to loosen one of the knots, dued goes so, so stiff, to the point that it looks like he’s hardly breathing. luke looks up, about to ask what’s wrong, and he thinks whatever remained of his heart might have just jumped out of his chest and fucked off to nowhere. because spectre has a gun to dued’s head, pressed right into his temple with a finger on the trigger.
dued doesn’t dare to even twitch, eyes blown even wider than they ever were before and inhaling so shakily through his nose that it’s a miracle he got any oxygen at all. harlem turns his head in his seat, confused, and completely freezes at the sight. luke’s hands tighten around the rope, and spectre tilts its head as it pushes the gun further into dued’s forehead, as if challenging luke to finish what he’s started. harlem shouts at the motion, all but begging for dued’s safety. but spectre doesn’t so much as glance at him, and they all know that harlem is powerless to stop it. luke is horrified, and he can’t tell if he’s breathing, either, because dued could be dead in an instant and luke is helpless to do anything to stop it. not unless he nods his head like the obedient dog he’s been since his lovers were taken away from him.
“okay,”, luke unevenly whispered, slowly releasing the ropes and putting his trembling hands in the air beside his head. “put— put the gun down. please. please, put the gun down.”, he pleaded, not once taking his eyes off the red and black luminescent weapon pointed at one of the loves of his life.
it’s only after luke surrenders that spectre eases the pressure of the gun from dued’s temple, but it doesn’t remove the gun like he kneeled for. dued closes his eyes as his trembling hands find harlem’s between the restraints of the rope that pin their arms behind the chairs, and harlem squeezes it as he hopelessly whispers reassurances to the other that it’ll be okay, that he isn’t going to die here, that they’ll be okay. “please— please put it down,”, luke begged, shaky and voice hardly above a whisper. “spare him—“
“them, or spiderman?”
the words might as well have been a gunshot on its own, and luke really wishes he died in that alleyway. he can’t— he can’t choose between his partners and his little brother. he can’t choose between his family like that. spectre has to be bluffing, or maybe there’s a loophole somewhere, he just needs time—
but then the gun is pressed further into dued’s head again, and dued is clenching his eyes shut, and blackened fingers are pressing into the trigger—
“okay! okay, i— i’ll do it!”, and harlem whips his head around to see the pure and utter fear and heartbreak on his face. “i’ll kill spiderman”, he says, with some sort of hardened resolve. “just… just let them live.”, he whispered, not daring to look up at harlem’s face. spectre must’ve found what it was looking for in luke’s tone, because the gun was removed and dued was gasping for air as if he was suffocating (and distantly, luke realizes that with how still the other was, he probably was suffocating. he’d been trying so hard not to cry this entire time, but that realization broke the already-weakened dam. he couldn’t stop the tears from falling, knowing that he was so close to losing them despite how close he was to the two after so long.)
spectre dropped luke’s mask by his feet, and turned to walk away. luke chose that moment to strike.
he jumped off the floor, claws stretched and fury on his tear-stricken face. detachedly, luke knows that this has never worked before. that spectre is always two steps ahead of him, that he’ll never so much as land a scratch on it. he doesn’t know why he thought this time would be different.
luke is thrown against the wall like a ragdoll, and a gunshot echoes through the room. luke braces himself for pain that never comes, and his eyes open to the sound of pained screaming. screaming, that his dazed brain connects to a voice that has never sounded so hurt, in so much agony, a voice that has always been so proud and could always control a room.
luke’s gut feels like it’s been twisted and pulled from his stomach at the sight of harlem heeled over with an honest to SFOTH chunk taken out of his leg, and dued hyperventilating behind him. luke screams his name as harlem continuously swears under his breath, and the prowler mask in front of him has never felt more damning than it does now.
luke doesn’t even get to comfort the two, doesn’t even get to hold harlem as his leg is patched up and doesn’t get to tell them that he’ll save them, somehow. “don’t fail them again, prowler.”, says spectre, and he feels like his fate has just been sealed with the devil. he can’t kill scripter. he can’t. but he has to, because scripter is spiderman and if luke doesn’t kill spiderman then dued and harlem will die, and luke feels a part of his soul wither away and his chest tighten so hard it might burst when he realizes that no matter what he does, no matter how hard he tries, he’ll still lose his family one way or another. no matter what, someone will die and that blood will be on his hands as they bury the body.
luke is limp as he’s dragged out of the room. the last thing he sees is the horror on dued’s face as he leaves and harlem’s pained shouts anytime he so much as breathes. he wishes he was never revived. he wishes he died in that alley. he really, really does. it would’ve been better than this.
(later, when harlem is woozy from blood loss and dued is desperately begging harlem to stay with him, to not close his eyes despite knowing it’s a losing battle, spectre comes back and drops a first aid kit at dued’s feet. “you have 30 minutes.”, it says, untying his restraints before leaving. dued is stunned at the feeling of air on the skin that has been restrained for so long, and he’s still reeling from everything that happened, from the feeling of cold metal on his forehead. but if he doesn’t work, now, then harlem will die, and he can’t let harlem die when he’s been so graciously given a chance to save him. so, dued compartmentalizes his feelings in boxes in his head, pretends like he can’t still see the glow of the gun shining in his eyes and blinding him, and picks up the first aid kit. harlem can’t die, here. he can’t be alone again.)
Spectre was always an… interesting character
Luke remembers first hearing about it through Builderman, when he explained that John Doe had been corrupted by Spectre, that it had abilities and goals beyond anyone’s understanding, that no matter how hard Builderman tried, Spectre was the reason John was no longer around. He remembers Builderman telling him Spectre wasn’t robloxian, wasn’t normal, an anomaly in the system that could control and puppeteer people because it did not feel, it was not an actual person
Luke remembered that day, the day he returned to HQ and John was dead, his body found in the middle of HQ. No one knew what happened, no one except Builderman, but no one would dare ask him to talk about it, especially since John was his son. Builderman simply set up a funeral, and then the next day Luke was back at work, a little number now that his best friend wasn’t there to give him coffee
He remembered how not so long after Scripter was hired, he returned home to find that Dued and Harlem were gone, a clear fight taking place inside his home as all that remained was a single pristine note
“If you want them back, work for me”
Spectre was weird. Not generous, but not shrewd. Not fancy, but not poor. It acted like it was above everyone, while also being humble when it wanted to be. It was everything and nothing, a being so powerful it could be whatever it wanted to be. Spectre had one goal for him should he want to see Dued and Harlem again, a simple goal that should have been easy to enact, something that he’d do in a heartbeat if it meant Dued and Harlem were safe and at home
Spiderman had been… a pain in the ass, to put it simply. He remembered Builderman complaining about him, how somehow he had this ability to take over and infiltrate any code based systems with his electrical and code like abilities. He was a powerful foe, cocky, energetic, too childlike for Luke’s tastes, but whatever, he could deal with those consequences later. Spiderman was nothing more than a menace, someone put inbetween Luke and his partners, someone who needed to be exterminated
Luke never knew why, but Spectre did always seem more upset whenever Spiderman seemed to survive his attacks, its eyes staring at the code that seemed to shoot out of a bracelet on Spider-Man’s wrist. Spectre asked Luke to grab the bracelet, that it would be the key to setting them both free, and Luke could do nothing more than obey. It was a small price for their safety, and Luke would do anything
But then Luke goes to attack Spiderman, and suddenly he’s ripping his mask down and Luke is met with the face of Scripter, a boy he took under his metaphorical wing and who had worked his way into Luke’s heart. He had a smile like the sun, a laugh that reminded Luke of simpler times at work, a voice that made Luke feel like a kid himself, and for a moment, he felt completely sick. Spiderman was Scripter? That couldn’t be right
But then he thought back to the last few battles, how similar their voices were, how annoying the both could be sometimes, how Scripter was always accidentally electrocuting things in his lab. For a second, it all clicks into place and Luke holds Scripter in horror as he realizes he has to choose between Scripter and Dued plus Harlem
He felt sick, he couldn’t do it, he was a lot of things, but Luke couldn’t kill Scripter, not after everything, not after Luke just found out Scripter had been in the hospital since the collapse of HQ, not since Builderman had made his own AI for Scripter to help him recover from being in said hospital, not after the last time he hugged he boy, Scripter broke down crying in his arms
And then pain shot through his stomach, and suddenly Scripter was the one cradling him, sobbing and begging Luke to stay around. Luke didn’t remember a lot of what was said, he didn’t remember a lot of anything really, but Luke knew, he knew internally he was dying. And silently he was happy with that, he asks Scripter to save Dued and Harlem, because he failed to do so, but now he wouldn’t be responsible for Scripter’s blood on his hands
He wishes he stayed dead
He’s standing in front of Scripter now, stuck on a roof a few houses away from Spectre’s base of operations. He looks worse for wear in his Spiderman outfit, Dued and Harlem now behind him, holding onto each other desperately as Scripter protects them. Like Luke will attack them just to get to Scripter, and it makes his heart sink
Scripter hadn’t moved since he saw him, which Luke supposes makes sense, the last time the two had seen each other it was when Luke died in his arms. He looked lost, confused, as if completely caught off guard over Luke continuing to attack him. He seemed to know a bit, but he was still staring at Luke as if begging him to not do this, while knowing also Luke had no choice
Harlem looks… bad, paler than Luke remembered with a sheen of sweat on his face. Dued was cradling him, holding onto each other a bandage that looked like it was holding back something infected. Luke went to attack, because he would, Dued and Harlem meant so much, and maybe if Scripter could figure something out, maybe if Dued and Harlem could get away, maybe if Scripter could get the two away and escape, maybe he wouldn’t have to
“Stop.”
Luke froze, his entire body freezing in place as he heard footsteps behind him, footsteps he had learned by now after too many times. Luke felt a hand on his shoulder, and looked up to see Spectre standing beside him, its head tilted slightly to the side, its gaze locked on Scripter’s wrist
It was then Luke noticed, Scripter wasn’t wearing that bracelet. He hasn’t been wearing it since that robot showed up, and for a moment, Luke wonders if that’s it, if Builderman has known about Scripter and never told him. Scripter didn’t have the ability to use code, that robot did, and Scripter had just been using it until it got its own physical body. Spectre gestured for Luke to stay still, and he immediately obeyed, the memory of a gun to Dued’s head being enough to make him as obedient as a dog
Spectre grinned slightly at Scripter and tapped his own wrist, as if asking about it. Scripter backed away and shook his head. “I don’t have it anymore. It’s just me.”
Spectre’s smile tightened, and a gun formed in its hands all over again, the barrel aiming towards Scripter. And for a moment, Luke wanted nothing more than to jump in and stop it, but his gaze caught Dued’s, an he knew he couldn’t afford to, that if he did, there’s a chance someone else could get hurt again. Scripter didn’t even flinch, just stared down the barrel as if daring Spectre to do it, as if begging him to his shoot the damn gun, calling on a bluff that might not even be there
Just as Spectre’s head tilted and his hand tensed around the trigger, there was a separate gunshot, a shot that hit Spectre in the arm and caused him to drop the gun on the ground. Spectre hissed and grabbed his arm, and Luke whipped his head over to the origin to see that same robot he saw with Scripter inside HQ. Its hand had morphed into some kind of energy gun, its face set and determined in a way that seemed almost too human for what it was
Spectre’s grin spread further, and Luke realized quickly that this was exactly what Spectre wanted. Scripter seemed to realize this too, as he screamed for Roblox to escape, to get out of there and run as far as he can, but Roblox barely managed to take a step back before a sudden hand curled around his neck and lifted him from the ground. Luke felt like someone punched him in the gut, as he recognized the face on that monster holding Roblox up
“John Doe?” Luke asked, his voice shaky as he watched John squeeze Roblox’s neck until the robot was squirming and kicking, begging for a release. Luke heard a snicker behind him, and turned around to see Spectre standing up now, a hand grabbing at the wound Roblox had give it, though it didn’t seem to be in any sort of pain at all
“Return him to me.” Spectre said, and suddenly John loosened his grip on Roblox and brought him over to Spectre. Luke felt his throat dry up, everyone stuck frozen as they watched the scene in front of him. Spectre walked over and pressed its suddenly healed hand to John Doe, and before anyone could blink, suddenly John shifted back from… whatever he was, back to what he looked like before the accident in HQ, and Spectre was holding some red and black orb in its hand. Luke watched with baited breath as John let go of Roblox and collapsed to the ground, breathing, but unconscious, now alive like the last time Luke had seen him
And suddenly, before anyone could process anything, before Roblox could move or before Scripter could get his bearings, Spectre shoved whatever he pulled from John Doe into Roblox, causing the robot to scream loud and suddenly
“RO!” Scripter screamed, suddenly finding his footing as he shot an electrical web at Spectre. Spectre simply dodged the web, a grin forming across its face as Roblox collapsed to the ground, the blue accents in its body slowly turning the same red that had covered John Doe earlier
Luke realized they had to go, now. He knew something was wrong, and if they didn’t leave, they’d be in for a fight he never prepared for. He looked at Dued, who stood up and hauled Harlem into his arms, and nodded at him to start running, and fast
Luke launched forwards and grabbed Spectre’s dropped gun and quickly shot at the being, watching as it screamed in pain from the bullet going straight through it. Dued immediately turned with Harlem and ran down the fire escape, leaving just Luke, Spectre, John, Roblox, and Scripter on the roof now
Luke dropped the gun quickly and ran over, grabbing John Doe and hauling him over his shoulder, adrenaline basically taking over him as he counted down how long it might take for Spectre to recover. He ran over after grabbing John and grabbed onto Scripter, hauling the boy over his other shoulder as Scripter screamed at him to put him down and let him grab Roblox
He silently apologized to Spectre as he stated running after Dued, who thankfully knew he city better than any of the people from HQ did, as he started taking corners and going down alleys Luke had never even seen before. He took one glance back and saw Spectre standing on the edge of the roof they had all been on, Roblox standing at its side with its eyes shining red, not the blue like before
And Luke wondered again, if everything would had been easier had he died in that alleyway
killer scripter postsaken where scripter has a lot of joint pains as a result of the way his body was stretched in the realm and roblox catching him everytime he collapses because his knees can’t support him during said moments of joint pain
It was something neither of them expected, but they probably should
Roblox had been helping him with his physical therapy, going to every appointment, helping him do his exercises at home, name it, Roblox was helping Scripter do it. It wasn’t out of any obligation, he would just… get up and do it
Scripter had mentioned his weak knees to the doctor and the doctor informed him that due to the changes that occurred in Forsaken, it was likely joint pain flare ups, and they’d likely never go away. Scripter was devastated, why wouldn’t he be? He thought he’d be able to walk again perfectly, but now he had to deal with his knees?
But Roblox placed a hand on Scripter’s shoulder and smiled at him, promising him that he would always be there when Scripter falls. Scripter smiled at that, thinking it was just comforting words said by a robot, he didn’t expect Roblox to take it literally
But then, Scripter’s knees buckle out as he’s talking to Clockwork, and Roblox catches him. He holds Scripter by the shoulders and helps him move into a sitting position on the floor without hurting his knees. And Scripter was surprised, because he never thought Roblox could be that gentle
And then it kept happening
Over and over again Roblox was always there when Scripter would fall. When his legs gave out, when he tripped, when he jumped off something, Roblox always caught him. It was almost endearing, as even when Scripter jumped at him, a confession on his lips, and after metal lips against his, Roblox still caught him
It became a constant, and he never doubted that Roblox would ever catch him. Roblox never made him feel lesser, Roblox never let him fall, Roblox just… did
One day, Roblox came back to HQ banged up. He had just faced a group of Exploiter who were messing with a small family and the exploiters were close to breaching his firewall before Roblox got a handle on them, so he was feeling kind of woozy. Scripter hopped over to visit him and watched as Roblox stayed unsteady on his feet, but was forcing himself to stand to greet Scripter
Scripter stated at the scene and just smiled, and opened his arms. Roblox looked hesitant, but Scripter just kept his arms open and told Roblox “let me catch you this time”. Roblox stated at Scripter with wide eyes before smiling and nodded, slumping forward onto Scripter and letting Scripter hold him close and run a hand through his hair
Scripted just smiled and closed his eyes, leaning his head against Roblox’s. Even if Roblox always caught him, Scripter would also always be there if Roblox needed him to catch him
hes seen the spiderman comics at the bookstore and refuses to run around looking tacky as shit and BALD if he’s gonna die in the job he has to die looking pretty or he’ll come back from the grave and haunt everyone
Roblox: I’ve calculated that wearing the full mask will greatly reduce drag and make it easier for you to swing around, while also lowering your chances of getting recognized and grabbed by the-
Scripter: Okay okay, but consider, do you want me to look bald?
Roblox: I… have no opinion?
Scripter: No no, I know you do, do I look better with or without the hair?
Roblox: My opinion doesn’t matter, your safety-
Scriper: Robloxxxx
Roblox: …
Roblox: You look better with the hair
Scripter: YES!
scripter and roblox got matching build a bears that sit on their beds at hq and everyone thinks it’s adorable but any time they mention it the two get very flustered and very red (or blue in roblox’s case)
Each bear has a voice recording of the two saying “I love you” to each other, just in case they ever need to stay apart for too long
They both weren’t completely gonna forget about Forsaken that easily lmao
