Especially when it comes to comic books, and they're like "noooo, it doesn't fit the original character designs!!" and I'm just like "first of all, the current character designs in the comics don't fit the original character designs, the beauty of a visual medium is that you get to consistently change it so it's updated for its time. Second, what part of, let's say, Nightwing's character design prevents him from being Asian-American?"

Point is, literally every "but we HAVE to whitewash" defense has many really simple solutions, and most of them are "just don't whitewash I promise nothing bad will happen."
