Okay, so hear me out on this one;
It has always kind of been a secret wish of mine ever since the Toons became really popular within the AB fandom that Rovio would create a legitimate half-hour long animated series about the birds, except that it featured only the extended flock-i.e, Red and co. + Bubbles, Hal, and mayybe Silver-and Stella’s flock together (for some weird reason). Honestly, I have nothing against the pigs, but I feel like Rovio has done nearly all they can with the pigs in both AB Toons and Piggy Tales, and I very rarely find them entertaining anymore. the show would focus more so on interactions and relationships between the Angry Birds and that sort of thing.
Anyway, my original point was that in my mind (and keep in mind that this is within my wildest imaginations) the birds would be given actual dialogue and casted by semi-famous TV and film actors. These actors differ from the ones chosen for the movie, but given that the show would have stuck more closely to Toons canon (and that I came up with this idea probs a year and a half before VAs were announced for the movie) I personally feel like these were more fitting for the media it was in: or at least for me anyways
so yeah this is how far I got (or as much as I can remember from two years ago
Ever since Toons came out way back in 2013, It has always been my headcanon that Red’s voice sounds like Jay Baruchel. He just has a perfectly pitched voice that fits Red’s in the toons.
Chuck for me has always sounded like a slightly deeper Tom Kenny, although since the movie came out I have been on the fence about this one.
The Blues, who I figured would all be done by the same person, sound like Macaulay Culkin when he was in the Home Alone films (I know i’m like twenty years too late, but a guy can dream). My second best option would be Tara Strong, who does timmy turner in Fairly Oddparents.
Bomb has always sounded like Patrick Warburton to me-partly because of his deep voice, charming charisma and clueless personality.
Matilda was one of the hardest voices for me to pinpoint. My gut tells me Eric Jacobson, who does the Muppets’ Miss Piggy (ironic or no?) although now that I look back at it I’m not sure if he’d do her justice. She’s probably up on the fence with chuck.
To be quite honest, I can’t imagine Terence saying anything more than muttering someone’s name once in a blue moon, so I’m kinda stumped on this one.
Hal’s a bit of a predicament because he used to have a very raspy old stoner dude voice in Angry Birds Go (done by Jean-Marie Viollet, apparently) that I thought fit his personality very well. I did enjoy Anthony Padilla’s performance in the movie, so I suppose that one would be fine.
Same thing kind of applies with Bubbles; in the toons he had a higher pitched, almost squeaky voice, but then again Ian Hecox did not disappoint either.
And now I’m excited cause we’re moving on to the lADY BIRBS
Honestly, I’ve got nothing for Stella. I will say that I wasnt too big on the way she sounded in the movie, which is a shame because I really enjoy Kate McKinnon. But Stella just sounded like her tongue was swollen every time she spoke.
Hands down best VA for Poppy would be Mabel Pines’ very own Kristen Schaal!
Willow’s voice sounds very soft and 2014 me thought that Ariana Grande would be a perfect fit for her. Looking back at this now makes me greatly question my thirteen year old mental state.
I’ve always loved the idea of Dahlia being voiced by Yvette Nicole Brown.
Another one of my headcanons is that Gale has a British accent; whether or not it’s authentic is up to you. Kelly Osbourne seemed like a perfect match, nonetheless.
And last but certainly not least, Luca’s perfect voice actor would be Sam Lavagnino. If you look up “bravest warrior catbug” on YouTube and look at the first video that pops up you’ll see what I mean.
And that’s that! I would like to add a disclaimer to anyone who’s made it this far that I am in no way trying to label this as canon within any facet of the Angry Birds universe whatsoever; hell more than half of these aren’t even my actual headcanons anymore. these are simply the washed up fantasies of a younger kid who was really into Angry Birds four years ago. I figured I might as well share it with the internet before it forever escapes my memory. I am a bit curious if @corona-de-flores and @loverofthebirbs have any opinions/ideas they wish to add to this. Sorry you have to go through this looong-ass post, hahah.
