My newest #RainbowLoom creation-the #SpaceStation bracelet (#tutorial by @loves2loom ). I made this one because of my recent obsession with space themed TV shows. 😊 :) Bands used: #SweetsCollection-Baby Blue Fairy, #MedievalCollection-Pink and #PearlCollection-Hot Pink & Ocean #looming #Loomers #loves2loom #HappiBatLooms 🌈
I got permission from Loves2loom (find her on youtube @loves2loom) to post this picture tutorial, so here it goes!
I changed up the design by making the cap bands different colors, while keeping the "chain" bands the same.
To start off, you'll need to plan your design. Pick your colors and preferred order. You'll need only 2 pegs for this bracelet, so you don't necessarily need a loom if you don't have one.
Step 1. The two gold bands (1 and 2) are the bands that will make the chain. The brown band is the cap band: a single band wrapped around the peg three times. If you want to change it up, remember that the band labelled #2 is going to show the most in your bracelet.
Step 2. Stick your hook inside the cap band and grab band #1 like shown below. Band #2 will stay in its place for now.
Step 3.Use your hook to pull up band #1 through the cap band as shown below. The arrows mark the direction you'll take the band to hook it onto the left peg.
Step 4: As you can see, band #1 is looped around the cap band and onto the left peg. Band #2 is still completely loose. Now, stick your hook inside the left peg, inside the #1 band's loops like shown below. Grab onto band #2 and pull up, keeping the #1 bands onto the left peg.
Step 5. Hook the #2 band back onto the right peg. Band #2 is now looped around the cap band and through #1 loops.
Step 6. From the outside of the right peg, grab onto the bottom #2 loop and pull up and over the peg so that it rests onto the top #2 loop.
Step 7. Add two more bands horizontally like in the picture below. You now have 5 bands on your loom. Then, stick your hook inside the #2 loop on the right peg and grab the #3 cap band with the end of your hook.
Step 8. Pull the cap band out through band #2, which makes it slip into the bottom position. Pull it to your right and up over the peg as directed by the arrows.
You should now have something like this.
Step 9. Repeat for the left peg. Because there is no band between the first two bands and the new top bands, you can go in from the outside of the peg to pull the bottom 2 bands up over the peg.
You will now have something like this. You'll have noticed that we need a new cap band on the right peg.
Step 10. Add a different colored cap band onto the right peg. You can wiggle it around a little with your hook to make sure it's nice and even. Sticking your hook into the cap band, grab the top gold band and bring it over to the left peg.
Step 11. Bring over the bottom gold band from the left peg to the right peg.
You'll now have something like this. Notice that we now have two golden bands below the cap band. That very bottom band is from the very first layer. The second bottom band is the one we are going to bring over first.
Step 12. Grab onto the second bottom band from the outside of the peg as pictured below and pull up and over the right peg. Release onto the top golden loop.
Step 13. We still have that bottom golden band. Stick your hook in front of the top golden band and inside of the pink cap band as pictured below. Use the end of your hook to grab onto the bottom band.
Step 14. Holding the bands into place with your fingers, pull the bottom band up through the cap band as pictured. Slip it over the peg and behind the first loop that we just did.
Step 15. Add two new horizontal gold bands.
Repeat steps 7 to 15 until your bracelet is long enough. Keep wrapping the bracelet around your wrist and adding layers until the beginning of your bracelet reaches your loom.
Step 16. When you have hooked over your last cap band and would be adding two new horizontal golden bands, instead hook the bands of the left peg onto the right peg.
Step 17. The right peg now has five bands. Stick your hook inside all of them and bring them over to the next peg to stretch them out. This makes it easier to attach a c-clip or an s-clip, which can be quite finicky. I attached mine onto the beginning of my bracelet before attaching it to the end, but whatever is easiest for you will work as long as both ends are safely attached.
