Salon Karma Designs Hair for Love, Twelve Photo Shoot
I had the pleasure recently of working on three photo shoots with Love, Twelve (lovetwelve.com), a great group that selects ladies who have undergone cancer treatment for fantastic pinup-style calendar photographs and videos. Donations to the group go back into the project and allow photographer and founder Tracy Birdsell to carry on the enlightening and healing experiences for these women.
The photoshoots enable these special women to undergo an experience of creation, personal and artistic expression and beauty, and it was easy to see how great the shoots were for them. The transformation they undergo into an iconic, empowered 1930’s style pinup-image sincerely helps them on their journeys back to complete health and positive self-image.
One model wrote in an email to me, “…THANK YOU for being part of the Love, Twelve community and for making me feel so special during my pin-up and more relaxed during the shoot. You might be happy to know I’ve started wearing lipstick again just to feel like a whole person...:) this whole experience is helping me get on the route to reclaiming my life.”
