Jesus vs. His "followers"

I've encountered Jesus. He met me at my worst state and provided hope, joy, reconciliation, love, encouragement, and His kindness led me to repentance. I've encountered many of His followers who've been more concerned with being right than loving people, judged harshly the sins they don't commit while ignoring their own sins, and many who refused to love the least, last, and the lost-wanting to appear holy while neglecting actually dying to self to help people as Jesus instructed and modeled. I've met numerous "Christians" who behave more like the devil. The thief (devil) comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. Jesus came so people could have life and have it to the fullest (John 10:10). The world has heard the sermons, seen the picket signs, listened to the political rants, but has the world encountered the real Jesus in us. The same character who did more than preach to people-He fed them, healed their diseases, freed them from oppression, and gave His life for them while guilty. He came to serve, not be served. The world needs us to act and love like Jesus, to re-present Him to the world. The only way we live like Him is to abide in Him (John 15:5). May we be merciful, forgiving, kind, generous, helpful, a blessing, loving, compassionate, joyful, patient, considerate, gentle, meek, truthful, and honor every person because they are someone God loves. Mainly, may we abide in Him so we bear good fruit.
