✢ - a memory that makes my muse smile

She smiled.  There was nothing, nothing whatsoever, that would ever make her smile more than the day she fell in love with the most wonderful woman in the world.  It seemed a simple thing, them working together on a project.  A simple thing, Blanc’s hand resting on her arm, them silent as they usually were.  And yet, and yet, Rei kept feeling her eyes drawn to Blanc.  It wasn’t like in the storybooks.  No angels sung, no beautiful, powerful action initiated the love.  It was, simply, them working together, in silence, and a soft, quiet realization that she loved her, this beautiful woman who had seen her at her worst and accepted her nonetheless.

She would never speak of this, of course.  This was a memory that belonged to her, and her alone.
