How did people ship Ealgeone in the original game?
OG4 Ashley looks and acts younger than her age; it's so off-putting to think that people were shipping her with Leon.
She has some immature dialogue in RE4R, but in the original game, they really play up the childlike act. She has a short mid-face, small stature, a higher voice, and often acts bratty. I'm not saying I have an issue with her behavior or looks. It's the fact that people saw her childlike depiction and shipped it with Leon, who is clearly grown and kinda sleazy.
Moreover, I do not understand trying to normalize a 20-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man's age gap in real life. IRL, this age gap is gross because of how different the mindset and maturity level are between a young lady and an older man. You guys are only okay with it because the 27-year-old man in question is Leon. But to go as far as to say this is an acceptable dynamic is questionable. Not to mention the aspects of trauma-bonding and power imbalance here.
It's strange to ship this dynamic.
