16– pouting only to have it removed by a kiss

Francis was pouting, and it was driving James absolutely mad. That’s a large part of the reason Francis was still doing the pouting. He sat at their dining table, which had been covered in mountains of papers and notebooks and pens for the last few weeks, absolutely resolute in their places. Francis had tried to move a pile to put down his plate of toast and had gotten his wrist smacked for his effort.

“You are being absolutely incorrigible, Francis.” James crossed his arms.

“And you aren’t?” Francis asked, incredulous, plate of toast balanced carefully on his knees.

James’ foot started to tap on the floor– tap tap tap. He was really in for it now, Francis though, holding down a grin. James only let his frustration shift this outward when it couldn’t be held still any longer. One more push would do it.

“All I’m saying is it’s important to consider every angle here. If you don’t take key things into account it could all end in disaster– this is going to be a perilous night, as you well know. Anything could happen and if we don’t use the influence we have on the variables we can change we are wasting the upper hand–”

“How can it possibly matter this much to you if we serve duck or veal at the wedding!”

At that Francis’ had to crack a smile– quick but James still caught it tight, and helplessly grinned in reply before wrestling it off his face. He strode over to Francis’ side and tapped his nose once, sharply.

“You absolute terror,” he muttered before kissing him soundly. His hand drifted and played with the simple gold band resting on Francis’ finger, as it had every time James had kissed him since Francis’ started wearing it.

Sure! In fact, some people on the FB group were asking for a clean version for phone bgs/ tattoo ideas/ etc, so I’ve been working on digitizing it. I’m hoping to finish it in the next couple days, and I bet it’ll be a lot easier for you to convert to cross-stitch!
