genAI "art" has gotten so good at hiding AI artifacts that you have to resort to judging someones work based on if the composition, detailing choices, imperfections are something an actual artist or the software they use would make. right now the weakness of the slop machine is that outputs look very generic and too perfect. even with how much stylization you slap on it, something will reek like a factory produced....well....product

as much as i love making art to cater to my own tastes, it can get to a point where "drawing for yourself" can be isolating.... doing trendy or more "digestable" pieces of work doesnt feel as satisfying and the way i used to draw doesnt spark as much joy as it used to
