Arthur glanced up from his reverie, a nervous grin gracing his lips. He nodded in greeting and raised one ink-stained to wave at the newcomers.
"Ah, good evening," he chirruped, with only a little normal hesitation in his tone. "Pardon my appearance, I've gone through quite a few pens today."

{♛} —; “…You should really organize your lies better…and work on your grammar, while you’re at it.” He jabbed softly, not caring for such poor words. Diederich? His Father’s right hand? Never. His name had been crossed from the list long ago, and to call his Mother such a filthy name…this Grey-Face didn’t deserve so much of a reaction from him.

So very many guests tonight, and so many of them familiar in one way or another, it would seem. The Knife-Thrower had no doubt come looking for either his scaled brother, as the sister who had come the night before, or for the sister herself...and God only knew what the Undertaker could possibly want at this hour. The Earl dreaded the very thought of what might have brought the cackling coffin-crafter to his doortstep.
It had been quite some time since he had seen the German Associate of his Father...but his face had barely changed. This man in particular was given a curt nod, a silent communication that the minuscule nobleman was very aware of how important a matter it must be, for him to visit at all...and that they would certainly speak on it at a later time. Madame Red could simply be paying her nephew a visit...and the last face was unfamiliar. Nevertheless, the Earl greeted his guests with as much respect as he ever showed to any that stepped over his threshold, as a nobleman should. After all...what sort of Phantomhive would not provide his guests with a proper hospitality? "...Good Evening to you all...and welcome to the Phantomhive Manor. It's rather late to be paying a visit...nevertheless, make yourselves at home."
