c!techno moved to the arctic because it was farther from everyone else and he thought being safe meant being alone. but then everyone started to move there with him; phil, ranboo, and now there's a baby...
and techno was determined to get that baby back. he's ranboo's son, it was the last thing he wanted so techno did it. but the first few days, he avoids the house. something about a little piglin makes him feel soft and vulnerable and maybe he remembers his parents and being that small. it doesn't stop him from checking on the baby, only from lingering too long.
so michael underscore beloved stares up at him in awe, this hulking figure that saved him twice, brought him back to his dads (even if one seems a little off, a little more like him) and techno covers his face and when he pulls his hands away, michael gives a little laugh. something like 'squeakHeeHeesnork!' techno does it again and he says 'peekaboo' this time and the laugh is louder and michael flaps his hands around the way babies do when their little bodies just don't know what to do with all this happiness.
and when michael covers his face, techno is distraught. 'heh?? where the heck is michael? where did he go? did he get eaten by a bear?' but michael drops his hands, giggling, and techno is so surprised. 'there he is! i can't believe it, this baby has super powers!' phil can hear the squeals of delight all the way from his porch.
now it's not so much that techno lingers, but visits. he denies it every time when phil asks, muttering something about property value and do you know how much damage babies can do, phil?
he disappears and reappears much to michael's never-ending surprise. he feigns defeat when the fearsome warrior, armed with a wooden sword, attacks. 'oh no, he's beatin' me, he's too strong! i can't believe this is how it ends, killed by a baby.' but technoblade never dies and michael is sitting on his chest giggling and trying to take his glasses and maybe techno lets michael wear them once or twice and maybe he gives michael piggyback rides - 'see this is why they call them that,' he says and leaves before tubbo gets back.
and one day he doesn't leave and he stays to awkwardly chat while michael bounces between the two and he pats michael on the head before he goes. and maybe it's the next day or the day after that techno returns to his cabin with michael on his shoulder, tiny, sticky baby hands grabbing techno's hair. and phil shakes his head with a smile and says, 'you're such a damn softie, mate.'
