Heroes and the Swords - Roleswap Au
Introducing the Ganons (truly the main characters) and their companions when they have them for my roleswap au.
Hero of the Sky: Groose - A boisterous young man that's been notably kinder and thoughtful since returning from his adventure. Defeated Demise and is currently helping establish a settlement on the Surface with Sun and Pippit. Is considerably more tired than he was before the adventure but scared to slow down for even a moment in case he misses something vital he should have been paying attention to. At times underestimates himself and is dealing with a hidden lack of self confidence.
Sword of the Sky: Pippit - A confident and self-assured young man that's been quieter since he and Groose returned. The first wielder of the Hero's Blade (newly forged Ghirahim like what was originally done to Fi) is currently helping Sun and Groose establish a settlement on the Surface. Is dating Sun. Also has new anxiety of being late and constantly exhausted. Slew Sky and dealing with hidden self doubt.
Hero of the Four Spirit Sword: Garoof - Childhood friend of Zelda and son of the current trade master of the Gerudo who only really started establishing themselves as their own people about in the last 200 years with the current political climate friendly though strained between them. Has managed to hold onto his childhood whimsy despite what he's been through and has been trying to recreate the magic he held on some of his adventures without using his sword (the spirit sword splitting your soul into four with three parts acting almost like poltergeists, adding an element a part with each new forging that we see in minish cap, the last fourth controlling the body with all parts able to switch who's in control at the time). Has also been drawing this adventures though he hides them after some bad reactions others had to them
Vaati - Garoof's companion during minish cap. Was mostly stuck in a hylian form the size of a minish during which he helped Garrof get to places he would have had to find alternate paths to and was his first introduction to magic. The two hang out both as hylians and minish size depending on what their doing and he's unsuccessfully trying to teach Garoof magic (he's not a good teacher). Was very angry to be left out of Garoof's second adventure.
Hero of Time: Ganondorf - Son of Nabooru, younger twin. An angry and bitter teen feeling very disconnected from everyone and everything while also dealing with body dysphoria. Is often disappearing to go exploring anywhere he can get to within a day because the land doesn't judge him or composing songs with his sister's encouragement. Is actively ignoring how he no longer knows his own twin anymore and hates how he can't just be normal about things anymore. Is struggling with insomnia from dealing with Majora.
Sword of Time: Golosa - Daughter of Nabooru, older twin. An angry and very depressed teen dealing with her own body dysphoria and disconnect. Trying to reconnect with her community and twin and often uses music as an escape. Ended up in the War of Eras while Ganondorf went through Majora, the first time either of them were properly alone without the other in yelling distance or within the five minutes walking of each other. Is struggling to reacclimate to peace and has no idea how to talk to anyone about what she's gone through, including her twin.
Hero of the Wind: Ganon - Pirate merchant who has had some time to actually process his adventures and grow a bit from the kid he was. Is the captain of his own ship, selling the goods Tetra pirates. Has found New Hyrule with her and is steadily helping the settlement grow, but it is just more focused on life on the sea, not ready to give it up any time soon. Loyal to those he cares about with a sense of justice that at times doesn't correlate to lawful actions.
Sword of the Wind: Ebis - First mate to Ganon and the reason the two went on their first adventure when his sister got kidnapped (Wind specifically trying to take measures against both any Zelda showing up by focusing on any Hylian girl that fit the legends of the royalty and keeping eyes out for any Gerudo boys). Loyal and would follow his captain to even another dimension even when he was meant to be there (Phantom Sword). More magically inclined than Ganon, much to his amusement.
Hero of Twilight: Ganondorf - Ranch hand from a border village between Hyrule and the Gerudo Desert. Currently engaged, he's still dealing with his adventure with his fiancée's help, the two of them helping each other get through each day rejoining their small comunity that almost feels two small now. Was changed into a jackal during his adventure and is still coming to terms with that even if he's much more comfortable with it than he was before. Quiet and often one for introspection, doing his best to keep an open mind about anything new or unsettling to him, even when it sets off all his red flags, though he is also one for almost more caution than what others think is nessassary.
Sword of Twilight: Sivail - Fiancée of Ganondorf, grew up with him and was right beside him when going to save the children of the village that got kidnapped during the chaos of when the Twilight Realm first showed up. Turned into a red tailed hawk, is more outgoing with people but has found society hard to rejoin after her time free on the wind with just Ganondorf, Epona and Enbarr (their horses), and eventually Minda for company. Mischievous but willing to slow down to just enjoy another day, alive and human, reminding herself that they're safe.
Hero of Legend: Ganon - A paranoid young man who would rather just be left alone to figure himself and his life out but is always expecting the next crisis to be just around the corner. Distrustful, unwilling to let down his walls after one too many betrayals, but hides that with a polite face and an open hand distracting you from the other gripping his sword. Is constantly on the move with a several hideaways in every land he's visited where he often stashes the numerous extras of items he has "just in case", with everything else somehow fitting into his one enchanted travel bag. Dark world form is a great jeroba. Has a big brother he refuses to talk about.
Hero of Hyrule: Gana - A paranoid, magic sensitive teen who's had to learn on the fly how to survive on his own and on the run. Born in Hyrule, adventure officially starts when his village is attacked. Can cast magic, but is horrible at it, either accidentally causing things to happen with only officially knowing two spells (Thunder and Life) with only one being reliable because he uses it so often (Life). Is cursed to bring back Hyrule (Link) if his blood is spilled on his ashes with the caveat that if Gana restores the land the curse will be broken. Also has the entire triforce that has several people after him that don't/do know about the curse (neither is well known). Doesn't have any plans on what to do with his life beyond staying alive, keeping ahead of everyone after him, and breaking the curse.
Hero of Warriors: Ganaf - Charismatic general within the United Hylian Army and acting ambassador between Hyrule and Faron Woods. Once an outgoing and prideful young man, he is nowadays more contained and serious, working to keep himself in check to not repeat past mistakes. Also a bit paranoid after dealing with traitors in the war, he does his best to keep an open mind while staying watchful. Is still very much recovering from the war and is working to strengthen ties between Hyrule and Faron Woods as the only non-Faron the Farons will allow into their woods. Tired, but slowly healing, the time away from Hyrule and the Gerudo Desert doing wonders for his mental health.
Hero of the Wild: Ganafdor - Survivalist amnesiac who is closer to the Farons than to the Gerudo after having only the forest and its children (the koroks) and one ghost (who didn't stay around for long) to teach him how to survive after waking up. Is awkwardly trying to figure out his dynamic with Flora, the two of them barely knowing each other before this with Ganafdor only pulling the Hero's Blade a little under a year before Calamity arrived. Would be the local cryptid across Hyrule in any other era, but everyone has pretty much just accepted him and his weird habits as it isn't to dissimilar to the lone and bands of travelers that carry news and goods with them, much to Flora's confusion.
