When We1less walked into the interview room, he immediately went to the sofa and lied down. He took a deep breath and said “I’m tired like a salted fish”. (What)
Q: Acron was able to bring the team a victory during the first time he played. He was also able to get MVP. How does it feel right now?
Acorn: Before, I was really nervous. However, I’m performing normally now. I’m really happy about winning.
Q: You switched Marin out for Acorn second game, what was the intention behind this?
Pyl: We didn’t have any particular intentions. It’s just that our two top laners are good at different champions. We wanted to see if we got different results when we switched our top laners.
Q: Then how are Marin and Acron different as top laners?
Pyl: From looking at our past games, you can see that Marin is a top laner who plays focusing on lane (Top/Mid/Bottom are all central focuses in game). Acorn is a tank who leans towards helping the overall team.
Q: A question for Marin. After coming to LPL, you’ve been playing champions who aren’t the strongest in this new patch. Did the team plan this or is this your personal preference?
Marin: One part of it is because I like it. I’ll also practice these champions during practice. In the end, the coach makes the decision.
Q: A question for Imp. You played very aggressively with Ezreal. Why is that?
Imp: Since my Ezreal and Lucian are not that good, I have to play more aggressively.
Q: So We1less in the first game had his Corki binded many times. However, he still only built damage items. Why is that?
We1less: Because the high damage haha. Usually, if there are champions like Lux or Elise in the mid lane with a lot of cc, I would bring Cleanse. However, we had Morgana that game. That’s why I only built damage items and bought Ignite.
Q: LGD doesn’t play as aggressively this season compared to last season. Why is that?
Pyl: Because we switched two of our positions this split. We’re still trying to integrate our team. That’s why we don’t have our own style yet.
Q: For Marin. After coming to LPL, does it feel that people are trying to specifically counter you?
Marin: I do feel that my opponents have been trying to prevent me from getting resources for my champion well. I will be sure to improve on this.
Q: Within LPL, where do you think you rank as a top laner?
Marin: Since I haven’t played against all the top laners, I’m really not sure.
Q: Pyl also said this earlier. When Marin plays, you play while focusing on all three lanes. Is it hard to split the resources when all three lanes are your core lanes?
Pyl: We have our own methods in splitting our resources. We split our resources depending on the champion.
Q: After Marin joined, who is the shot caller?
Pyl: Marin is the shot caller.
Q: What about Acorn?
Pyl: When Acorn plays, the shot calling is more distributed and we’ll communicate with basic Chinese.
Q: Right now, LGD doesn’t have a good score. What will you do to change this situation around?
Pyl: After this, our break will be pretty short. We’ll try to play more scrims in order to prepare for our games after new years.
Q: A question for Pyl. What does it mean for you as a team to win for the first time?
Pyl: It’s a motivation for us. It’s like we finally won a round. Winning has been very hard.
Q: A question for Acorn. Your Poppy in your second game was MVP. At that time, you knocked the opponent’s Kalista into the wall. How did you do it?
Acorn: Usually, you have to aim your E towards a wall. I feel like if I walked around, its easier for them to avoid it. So I decided to Flash and E.
Q: In the last team fight, your Poppy ult was also very crucial. What were you thinking at that time?
Acorn: I don’t remember (laughs).
Q: Can you rate your opponent’s Lux in the first game.
We1less: After I got Corki, any champion he chose would’ve been futile.
Q: A question for Marin. Do you still watch LCK games now that you’re in LPL?
Marin: I won’t watch all of them. I’ll just choose the ones that are good.
Q: Can you rate SKT’s new top laner, Duke?
Marin: I think they have some problems integrating the team. I believe that they will become better and better with time.
Q: A question for XiaoXi. What is the coaching staff’s plan for you? Will you be starting from now on?
XiaoXi: That depends on whether Eimy or I is in a better condition.
Q: Who do you think is in a better condition then?
XiaoXi: My condition is really good. But I don’t know if I’ll be able to maintain it until after new years.
Q: As LGD’s new jungler, do you have a lot of pressure?
XiaoXi: There is a lot of pressure. However, you can always change the pressure into motivation.
Q: A question for We1less. How did you win the past two games?
We1less: In the first game, their mid laner was Lux and I was Corki. Our jungler Rek’sai and I were able to take control of the entire top portion of their jungle. We were also able to kill Elise a few times. We were able to bring that advantage to top lane. That advantage was later brought down to mid lane and we were able to take down our opponent in the end. In the second game, our champions were stronger late game.
Q: We1less hasn’t performed very well since the beginning of the split. How will you rate yourself?
We1less: Right now, we just passed the 1/3rd mark. I will prove everything will time.
Q: A question for Acorn. In the second game, your opponent had mainly attack damage. Why did you still build Spirit Visage?
Acorn: When I play Poppy, there are three items I must get. Iceborn Gauntlet, Sunfire Cape and Spirit Visage. If there is one opponent with AP damage, I’ll build Spirit Visage.
Q: A question for XiaoXi. During games, you help top lane very frequently. Why is that?
XiaoXi: It’s because I feel that Marin can carry.
Pyl: (Adds on). It’s because Marin is our shot caller. That’s why when we don’t really need the jungler, XiaoXi will choose to help Marin and help him gain an advantage. This way, it’s also helpful for Marin’s shot calling.
